12.01.2022 Hockey Australia is producing a series of daily hockey videos - including content from Australian Hockeyroos and Kookaburras players and coaches - aimed at help...ing you and your family keep healthy, active, engaged and entertained during the coronavirus situation. So get out your hockey stick and ball and enjoy daily videos on Hockey Australias social media channels Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Monday 8pm (Queensland time) HOCKEY AT HOME CLINICS Kookaburras and Hockeyroos athletes and coaches will teach and take you through specific skills and how to help to improve your game and technique. They will explain, educate and execute varying skills so you can be an even better player once you are back out on the pitch. Even if you only have a confined space to work in at home, these home coaching clinics are sure to help you improve but most importantly keep enjoying everything that is great about hockey. Tuesday & Thursday 5pm PRACTISE HOCKEY AT HOME Athletes and coaches will demonstrate drills and exercises in their homes that focus on the basics so you can practise them at yours. And dont worry if dont have any cones, markers or training equipment, they will show you how to make use of your household items. Wednesday 5pm KEEP HOCKEY FIT Members of HAs High Performance Strength & Conditioning staff, as well as the athletes, will share exercises that you can do at home to stay fit and healthy. This could include strength or cardio circuits, stretching, warm-ups or warm-downs. LEARN ABOUT THE GAME 8pm The Kookaburras and Hockeyroos coaches, plus other coaches from various levels and some of Australias best hockey officials will provide insights and perspectives into a range of different areas of the game. This will include perspectives and clarifications on rules and officiating, as well as special tactical intel from assistant and line coaches. Friday 12pm HOCKEY HEALTH AND WELLBEING Set yourself up for the week as HAs experts in this field and athletes give insights into a host of health and wellbeing topics including nutrition, mindfulness, focus, commitment to training and more. Saturday 6pm HOCKEY LIVE Each Saturday night there will be a special interview with one of the Kookaburras or Hockeyroos. To comprise a mix of hockey related topics and what the players enjoy doing off the field, it is a weekly segment not to be missed as you get to know your world class hockey stars. Sunday 8pm ATHLETE UPDATE & NON HOCKEY INTERESTS They are exceptional at hockey but have you ever wondered what other hidden talents or interests our Kookaburras and Hockeyroos players and coaches have? Every Sunday night get a special insight into one of their favourite off field hobbiesand if you are lucky they may even demonstrate or show us some of their handiwork. 08.01.2022 Well the Hockey weekend is once again getting busier and busier. HPB was our at Redcliffe again to catch the Kedron Wavell Wolves up against the South West Unit...ed QUT hockey ladies. (2 weeks in a row ladies) The QAS and Hockeyroos were allowed to play this week and what a delight it was to watch them mixing it up again in our Brisbane turf competition. The Wolves came away eventual 9-0 winners, but only after some dogged fall away defence from the ladies in orange. There was orange everywhere in that circle. Another great showing from the young SQH goalie Maddy Richter. She had a big day at the office as they say. Enjoy the pictures. See more

03.01.2022 Please find below the latest update from Hockey QLD. We will keep you updated as information comes to hand. Hockey Qld COVID-19 Update #6 Return to Play Plan Development ... Dear Associations, Members, and State Hockey Users, With the release of the Queensland Governments Roadmap to easing Queenslands restrictions last Friday, Hockey Queensland, Associations, and Clubs now have confirmed dates on the resumption of hockey. Since the announcement, HQ has begun working with the QLD Department of Sport and Recreation, Qsport, Hockey Australia, and our Associations to develop a Return to Play Plan. We are all very eager to return to the pitch and while restrictions are easing, there is still some work to be done. It is important to acknowledge that although as of Saturday groups of 10 can gather and non-contact activities can take place (with hygiene and social distancing), community sport is not set to begin until Stage 2. This was clearly outlined during a QLD Sport and Recreation meeting this afternoon noting that Stage 1 is considered for non-structured activities. There are a number of details and processes still to be finalised and put in place before we can get back on the pitch safely. Hockey Queensland strongly recommends holding off on organising any immediate formal, organised training sessions under Stage 1. I will be meeting with the Association Presidents Wednesday night to discuss the Roadmap to Restarting Hockey in Queensland. HQ will also convene a Facility Working Group comprising of representatives from different Associations around the state. This working group will focus on developing a set of Return to Hockey Guidelines for facilities alongside the National Hockey Framework. I acknowledge we are all very excited to recommence hockey, and to make sure we can reach Stage 3 and resume fixtures we need everyone to be patient and continue to follow the advice and directives of Queensland Health.
