24.01.2022 A pleasure to introduce Dr Stuart Ellis, the Chief Examiner and global director of the PGCert & PGDip programs from Cambridge, UK. Dr Ellis qualified from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1990. In 1996 he gained the MFGDP(UK) postgraduate qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In 1999 he gained the DPDS from the University of Bristol. In 2006 Stuart was awarded his Masters Degree (MSc). In March 1998, Dr Ellis was presented with the coveted Natio...nal Dental Award by the dental profession, for his work in the field of dental phobia. Dr Ellis' main area of interest is in the field of dental implantology, having gained his experience in implantology in the UK hospital service and Harley Street, London. He is a member of the Association for Dental Implantology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is Director of the Cambridge Academy of Dental Implantology @camsacaddentimp and Course Lead for both the UK Implantology Year Course and the International Implantology Certificate Course. In this capacity he has now trained over 300 dentists in the field of dental implantology. His previous appointments include Honorary Clinical Teacher for the Royal London Medical & Dental School. Dr Ellis has served as a Chief Examiner (MSA component) at the Royal College of Surgeons in the postgraduate dental qualification, the MFGDP. He was also an examiner for the MJDF postgraduate qualification at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Dr Ellis has a Masters Degree in Medical Law & Ethics. Not sure if it will take off but worth a try This patient had vertical maxillary excess and soft tissue display with only a few anterior tooth roots remaining due to a history of neglect. There was a traumatic overbite and a complex prosthodontic rehab situation. The alveolar ridge was narrow and required splitting and GBR. The maxillary sinuses were pneumatised. So all in all, a d...ifficult case which was successfully managed in one surgery for immediate loading. We established the correct VDO and incisal edge position with alveolectomy and prosthetic gum replacement. Flat intaglio and tissue compression for hygienic form. Pterygoid and nasopalatine implants meant we could achieve excellent overall spread of implants and primary stability, relieving forces from the grafted region. 05.01.2022 We welcome Dr Linda Monshizadeh! Dr Linda Monshizadeh Dr Linda Monshizadeh MBBS (Hons) FRACS (Plast) MASurg (Craniofacial) is a specialist plastic, reconstructive and craniofacial surgeon. We are super pleased to have Linda join our faculty to contribute as an expert lecturer in anatomy and advanced practical surgical skills in our PGDip (Dent Imp) and advanced surgical courses. Dr. Linda Monshizadeh completed her medical training at the University of Western Australia (UWA)... in 2007, graduating with a degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours. Linda commenced five years of specialist training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012 and was formally awarded her FRACS qualification in plastic and reconstructive surgery in 2017. During this time, she was awarded the Gordon Baron-Hay Award for best research paper. Dr. Monshizadeh then undertook two-years post-fellowship training which was dedicated to her subspecialty interest of paediatric and adult Craniomaxillofacial surgery. The first year of training was under the supervision of Professor David David AC, at the internationally renowned Australian Craniofacial Unit in Adelaide, South Australia, followed by further training at the Westmead Children’s hospital in Sydney, NSW. During this time Linda furthered her studies and was awarded her Masters of Craniofacial Surgery through Macquarie University, Sydney. She also won the University research prize, recognising academic excellence in evidence based practice. Linda currently holds consultant positions at Perth Children’s Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital where she undertakes work in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery as well as her subspecialty area of Craniomaxillofacial surgery. Dr. Monshizadeh is actively involved with a number of trusts and humanitarian organisations and takes part in annual missions abroad to provide cleft and reconstructive plastic surgery to developing nations. Linda's private practice is located in West Perth, concentrating on the repair of congenital and acquired conditions including craniomaxillofacial trauma, head and neck reconstruction, orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery and aesthetic surgery of the face. Dr. Monshizadeh to analyse individual faces completely from both a skeletal and soft tissue perspective to help patients plan and achieve their unique reconstructive/aesthetic goals. He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI) and he was also awarded Membership into the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners through the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MFGDP). His private practice in Sydney is focused primarily on aesthetic rehabilitation, dental implantology and hard and soft tissue grafting using the latest techniques learnt extensively from around the world. He is one of Australia’s leading dental photographers. Of late, he was awarded 2020 Top 50 Top Emerging Photographers and he was awarded in 2019 Top 100 in the competitive Open/Illustrative category in the Australian Photography Awards.
