23.01.2022 Today is the first day of #mentalhealthmonth2020 How does dance benefit our mental health? 1. Having a #passion can give you a tremendous sense of #competency, which is one of the keys to developing good #selfesteem. Overcoming little #challenges related to your passion can help you to feel even #stronger when you come through the other end.... 2. #Activity helps you to feel better. There is a lot of evidence that shows that the more people do, and the more pleasant activities they get involved in, the better they feel. Becoming more active has a number of advantages. At the very least, when you start engaging in some kind of activity, it gives your mind something else to think about a different focus. 3. It gives you a sense of #purpose. It makes good sense to do fun and pleasurable things to make you feel better, but these are not the only sorts of activities that will help generate #positive feelings. Being depressed isn’t just about feeling sad there are a lot of other feelings involved as well, such as hopelessness and despair. So, it also makes sense to do things that result in other positive feelings, such as #achievement and a #senseofpurpose. 4. It gives you a sense of #accomplishment when you conquer new #goals. Achievement in many areas of human endeavor adds richness and quality to our lives. Painting, composing, writing, creating, teaching and #performing are great sources for satisfying our intent to be #successful and gain a sense of accomplishment. 5. It gives you goals to strive for. Having something to aim for is important for #mentalhealth. A person needs both short term goals and long term goals. A mentally healthy person sets and #aspires to goals based on an assessment of personal capabilities. Take time to check in on your mental health and keep dancing!

20.01.2022 Today is international #worldteachersday2020 and the day would not be complete without celebrating the 19 JF teachers who bring their passion, expertise, energy, love and brilliance to the JF students each week. At The Jazz Factory you need to love what you do first and foremost to earn a place on the teaching staff so that every teacher can give their all to every student. We recognise that each student is unique and dedicate our job to nurturing their passion, talent and drive and bringing out the very best in them! The theme worldwide for teachers this year is Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future and every teacher worldwide needs a huge shoutout for guiding their students through a tumultuous year and continuing to support, nurture and shape them as the whole world conquers its challenges!
