25.01.2022 Happy birthday Sue for last week and Happy birthday Ted for today. You are both much loved members at The Junction

24.01.2022 For anyone living in Cairns and surrounding areas in Far North Qld. If you or someone you know has had a loved one die by suicide and if you would like t...o make contact with other people walking this very sad and difficult journey then please join us at our small support group meeting. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month (next meeting is Tuesday 9th July 2019) from 7.30pm - 9pm at the Red Cross Facility on the corner of Grove and Lake Street Cairns. The entrance is off Grove Street. It is a very safe, non judgemental and peaceful environment where you will be with people who truly understand what you are feeling and experiencing. It is NOT the sort of group where you have to stand up in front of everyone and "spill your guts", but rather one that nurtures and respects every individual's reaction to dealing with their loss. You can contribute as little or as much as you feel comfortable with. I know that there are plenty of us walking this horrendous journey and we would like to reach out and make contact and help as many people as possible. We are not a professional group offering counselling but rather just ordinary people who have had a child, sibling, grandchild or friend take their own life. If there is anyone that would like to come along next Tuesday night but are feeling too scared or apprehensive then please send me a personal message and we will endeavour to pick you up so you are not walking in alone. Our group is small, unique and not one that we want to belong to, but it is supportive, understanding and non judgemental and we finish up with supper. If you feel that you are not yet ready to join us then that is okay and we can organise an information pack to be sent out to you. We are formally known as the Survivors of Suicide Bereavement Support Group. Please feel free to contact me if any further information is required. See more

04.01.2022 Zoe and David Strickland from Cairns lost their son, Elliot, to suicide last year. Through their pain and grief, they're trying to make a difference through a c...ommunity event which encourages people to decorate the Stratford cycle path with beautiful messages in chalk aimed at killing the stigma around suicide. #LetsChalkAboutMentalHealth See more
