20.01.2022 Respirated from @tomorrowman_au Recently I was in Busselton, talking with young men about the 'History of Man'. The irony is that a lot of my personal history comes from there. My Grandad lives down the road from Georgiana Molloy Anglican School, the school I was working with, and I spent a lot of summers down there. I remember waking up to the sound of the local magpies, sunny days spent at the beach, and dinner at Red Rooster down the road. For the week I was in Busselton..., I stayed with my Grandad. It was the original home my Mum grew up in, asbestos walls up front and a Hills Hoist out the back. The house brought back vivid memories of the bedroom that I shared there with my brother, specifically of the Mack Truck picture hanging on the wall. So many memories from my childhood are from this house. In our 'History of Man' workshop, we chat about the traits that we carry forward from our ancestors. My Grandad worked until he was 72. As a mechanic and then a driving instructor. When he retired he had more than 400 days of sick leave, and an entire year of annual leave saved up. He worked so hard to set up our family, and to this day I still benefit from the work that he did. All these years later, and I find myself working with young blokes from Busselton, talking to them about navigating the challenges they will undoubtedly face. Teens that are a similar age to me when I used to spent a lot of time there. I’m thankful for the memories that my Grandad’s house holds. I’m thankful for the hard work that he put in, allowing me and his other grandchildren to live meaningful, wholesome and family oriented lives. That’s my history. - Rhett Thanks to @thekaieardleyfoundation for helping us to reach young blokes all across the west, letting them tell their own history and putting plans in place for their futures. If you'd love to have us at your school, get in touch or find out more about our face to face and virtual programs on our website. See more
19.01.2022 Repost @mycause.com.au Daniel has struggled with his mental health throughout his life and lived an unhealthy lifestyle. He realised he needed a change, ordered a Penny Farthing bike and planned to ride across Australia with the hope that it would heal his mind and body. As he journeys across the country, Daniel has also been fundraising for mental health charities. So far he has raised over $12,600! All the money Daniel raises will be split between @beyondblueofficial, @h...eadspace_aus, @livinorg, @lifeline_wa, @thekaieardleyfoundation and @happiness__co. https://buff.ly/38MsyV4 Do you want to fundraise for a challenge or adventure? 16.01.2022 Reposted from @tomorrowman_au Since 2017, the Kai Eardley Foundation has supported us to deliver over 200 workshops in WA, reaching over 7,700 young men across the state. However, this success story has a tragic beginning. This Sunday marks four years since Kai took his own life. He was a smart, charismatic young man from Fremantle. He skated, played footy with his two brothers and cared deeply for his friends and family. The tragedy that his mum and brothers experienced... - Claire, Cam and Joey - for most of us, can only be imagined. To honour Kai, Claire established the Kai Eardley Foundation and has been on a crusade to reach every young man in WA. She believes, had Kai been able to see that talking to your mates is powerful and can be easy, he may not have taken his own life. I mention Kai in every workshop I run. I talk about him not because of tragedy but because of the impact his life continues to have on the young men I work with. Think of a teenage boy that you know, and then think of them saying the following: I learned that being a man doesn’t mean you have to be hard and tough, but you can display emotion - Denmark Senior High School Year 10 student. This workshop has shown me that a lot of men are going through different things and I now know, it’s okay to share these problems with others - Margaret River Senior High School Year 10 student. This is just some of the feedback from the 7,700 young men that we have worked with in WA. We stand with Claire on her crusade to give young men a training ground to practice talking to their mates about what’s really going on below the surface. When these men get to do this, they see that they are not alone in facing challenges and that talking is a gutsy thing to do. This is the impact that Kai’s life continues to have on young men across WA. If you need immediate support or are worried about someone else, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, beyondblue on 1300 224 636, or MensLine on 1300 78 99 78. If life is in danger call 000. See more

05.01.2022 Reposted from @tomorrowman_au Kai Eardley took his own life three years ago, and his mum Claire still talks about him every single day. If she could see him one more time, she knows exactly what she’d say to him; Boy, am I glad to see you! Claire is a powerhouse. She founded @thekaieardleyfoundation (KEF) as a legacy to Kai and his life. She also has a brilliant group of volunteers supporting her mission; to run events, fundraise and support the mental health of young ...men in WA. Recently we ran a Virtual Connection workshop with members of the KEF team. And I was floored with the impact Kai, and this organisation continued to have on young men today. As our WA partner, they have supported us to deliver 220 workshops across the state, positively impacting the lives of over 7500 young men. During workshops, I have seen first-hand the changes those young men experience. I’ve seen them break the bloke-y stereotype by standing up in a room of their peers and talking about the challenges they have faced. I’ve then seen their mates encourage them to speak up or shed tears for their friends. I’ve seen jaws drop to the floor when young blokes realise the strength their mates have shown to get through family struggles, mental health issues, losing someone close to them or any number of other challenging experiences. I’ve heard these aspirational young men say that standing up and speaking with gravity is what true strength is. Through all of this Kai continues to impact the world of these young men. As a proud WA man myself, I’m honoured to be a part of changing the lives of boys across the state. And proud to carry Kai’s legacy in the work that we do at Tomorrow Man. - Rhett If you need immediate support or are worried about someone else call Lifeline on 13 11 14, beyondblue on 1300 224 636, or MensLine on 1300 78 99 78. 03.01.2022 This local legend Tristan Gorey swam a solo Rottnest Swim earlier this year. Despite seasickness and the incredible endurance required he raised $2300 for the KEF A huge thanks to Tristan and Athlete X team for supporting men’s mental health and the choose kind project
03.01.2022 This year we are thrilled to back our very own Rottnest Express swim team the Red Riders in the 2021 South32 Rottnest Channel Swim. Jackson, Dom, Matt and Nick... all work for Rottnest Express and are taking on the swim tomorrow to fundraise for The Kai Eardley Foundation. The boys have raised $3,495 so far, smashing their goal of $3,000, to go towards supporting the foundations’ Tomorrow Man workshops which work on addressing and reducing the stigma around young men’s mental health. We wish the best of luck to the Red Riders and all of those swimming tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day! Rottnest Island, Western Australia
