21.01.2022 Happy birthday John Dalton! Here is Dalts bringing up his first A Grade hundred for Kensington, against Prospect in 2015.

21.01.2022 The club received the sad news during the week that Club great Doug Rolfe has unfortunately passed away after a cancer battle. Doug played in three A Grade premierships for Kensington, in 1979-80, 1982-83 and 1985-86. He scored 2944 A Grade runs for the Browns and also played four Shield games. He is fondly remembered by everyone he played with.... Tony Risby: Fantastic guy and a Kensington legend! Peter Brinsley: Very sad news, he was a great bloke Steve Alexander: Great bloke and an awesome player I remember trying to copy his technique when I came to the club Sam Parkinson: Very sad about Rolfey. He lived with me, great bloke! Peter Raymond: RIP Rolfey Great bloke Tim May: Such sad news such a good modest bloke I hope his family are doing as well as can be in these terrible circumstances Doug Rolfe u will be very much missed mate Ian Bowley: Very sad news. A great man on and off the field. Andrew Rumbelow: Great bloke and a pleasure to play with. Rumbles did also recall one story: Rolfey was a tough cricketer and he often played on the edge. Ill never forget a day vs Sturt at home. I was non-striker and the bowler was Rick Massey with Rolfey on strike. Rick was giving some lip. So Rolfey leg glances one down to fine leg. I take off thinking a possible two. Get to the crease and turn only to see Rolfey speed up, drop his shoulder and absolutely barrel Massey. A big hit. Massey was sprawled on the ground and starting complaining about what had happened. Not one person on the ground including the umpires and Sturt fielders had seen it. Everyone thought Massey must have fallen in his follow through. The umps asked Rolfey what happened and he denied any contact whatsoever. It was gold! Everyone at Kensington would like to pass on their respects and condolences to the Rolfe family.

21.01.2022 Outrageous! Egregious! Preposterous!

16.01.2022 The Under 16 Whites finished the season with a big win over TTG at Marryatville. This left us in 2nd place on the table but sadly there was no finals series so we finished the season as runners up. Hamish Towers 130*, Milo Bennett 76 and Ollie Cooke 57 starred with the bat as we put on 7/297.... Offie Mitchell Makings was the pick of the bowlers with 3/6 as we bowled the Gullies out for 99. 07.01.2022 Kensington District Cricket Club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of South Australian cricket great, Barry Jarman. Barry played a significant role in pioneering junior cricket at the club. In 1977 Barry was the senior captain-coach who played alongside the Under 16 cricketers in the early days of that competition. The competition itself was set up and sponsored by his sports store, Rowe and Jarman. He later became the clubs senior coach and his sons, Gavin and Jas...on, both played cricket for Kensington. Barry played his grade cricket with Woodville and now each season Kensington and Woodville play for the Barry Jarman Shield, highlighting the impact he had on both clubs. In recent years Barry has been a keen onlooker from the Parkinson Oval balcony, always willing to offer advice and support for the coaches and players. He remained extremely passionate about his cricket though never quite came to terms with John Palmer keeping up to the stumps to Jamie Panelli! The linked article outlines Barrys friendship with another SA cricketing icon, Barry Nugget Rees. https://www.saca.com.au/news/vale-barry-jarman/2020-07-18 More comprehensive details about Barrys life and career can be found in Barry Nicholls (another Kensington Brown) book, For Those Who Wait: The Barry Jarman Story. Our deepest condolences go to the Jarman family; wife Gaynor, and children Kristen, Gavin, Jason and Erin.

03.01.2022 Plenty of runs, wickets and especially wins so far this season for the Browns !! We’ve had some amazing efforts on and off the field so far this year. Starting off we would like to recognise womens A grader Shae Daly and D grader Ryan Butta for driving down to bulkana oval to help the B grade after losing 2 players to injury in round two!! A true example of the one club spirit at Kensington. In round one Alex Ross got off to a perfect start with the first 100 of the season in... the A grade, James Cleggett made 50 in the B grade. Womens B grade skipper Monique Draycott scored an impressive 89. Harry Latham in the C grade made a solid 50 and Adam Clements put on a clinic with 4/9 from 8. In the D grade Michael Silvy, Arham Hashmi and Fred Mcclure all got 50s!! In Round 2 Jake brown dominated the A grade with 3/8 off 7 and 97* off 91 balls, in the Women’s A’s, Captain Sarah Lowe guided the girls to victory with 43*! For the B grade Tom Brinsley hobbled his way to 50 and strained his groin in the process and Hayden Cesaro took his maiden 5 fa !! Steve Tanti snagged 5/14 from 8, Michael Sullivan and Harry Edmonds also both scores 50s in a convincing win for the C grade !! See more

01.01.2022 Exciting game for the Ray Sutton Shield kids today. We made 107 batting first with 25 from Suhas Challa and 35 from Tharan Balachander. Prospect cruised to 0/35 before our trio of spinners entered the fray. Henry, Tharan and Seb combined for 8 wickets.... We ended up bowling Prospect out for 97 in the 38th over of a tight game. Spin to win!
