24.01.2022 Happy Sunday everyone Once upon a time both my parents and my Food As Medicine Lecturer told me the benefits of an overripe banana and it’s anti cancer benefits. Research indicates the riper the banana the higher the antioxidant levels. Checkout my pics attached and let me know your thoughts. ... So make sure you don’t throw them away, use your overripe bananas in a smoothie, cake or simply freeze them. Again everything in moderation and not to contraindicate anyone’s current health conditions and medications by keeping it to 1-2 bananas a day to not interfere with spikes in sugar levels.

23.01.2022 Our journey thus far... The release of our first batch of chilli sauce sold in 2 days which was amazing, thank you once again. Some feedback - some preferred a hotter version but overall most were very happy. Our delay moving forward has been due to Papa Khose being very unwell. A lot of my energy has been with my family. ... He has been in and out of hospital but is now in Palliative Care at home. Life has been hectic but til things are sorted with Dad we will be taking a short break. Fortunately we will be back for Christmas. Papa Khoses Chilli Sauce will be available alongside our new product, a family favourite Papa Khoses Satay Sauce. You will not be disappointed. Over the past month Ive made a few big batches of my Dads Chicken Rice Chilli Sauce and people have raved about how delish it is. ... Id like to know who would be interested in buying a jar if I started producing this in bulk?
20.01.2022 Tales Of The Vege Garden : Episode 1 Welcome back Friends, so hopefully you have all caught up from my last post, if not please rewind and check it out. So the story continues...from the ventures of the Epic Chicken Coop to the next part of our story, the reinvention our vege patch. ... This next stage took time, careful consideration went into the design and layout aspect. Although it was a small space we needed to utilize it best we could to get the best outcome, meaning we kept in mind the environmental conditions, sun position, existing trees, shadowing, height of the beds, high water table, materials used etc...in taking these extremely important factors into play we have in turn reaped the rewards with our ever abundant healthy patch. So then construction of these labor intensive garden beds begin. With Troys background in Carpentry he was adamant we use a quality timber. He sourced some beautiful WA Jarrah Sleepers to do the job. Prior to delivery we had the sleepers rough sawn, then Troy chamfered the edges to give a aesthetically pleasing finish. The garden bed height is personal preference but we agreed 400 mm would be a decent height for our needs. The results speak for themselves and we are so pleased with the end result. The use of a material such as a timber rather than the popular corrugated iron beds is that it allows the soil to naturally absorb into the wood and in turn to not overheat the soil and affect the growth of the plants. Well this is my personal opinion anyways, I guess it all depends on the sun position on the area, again all factors that should be considered before deciding what material you would like to use in your yard. With all the craziness that we are experiencing at the moment why not take control of what goes into your bodies and start your own vege patch. Start small and get a feel for it, you will surprise yourself. But please wait til my next post to boost your confidence even more and give you healthy sustainable plants made from your own compost. This healthy feedback will help me to improve or tweek my sauce and make it a lasting memory to all of you. Once again thanks for all your love and support, its greatly appreciated. Working on the next product...my dear mothers famous SATAY SAUCE. Again another childhood memory for the Khose Family. Now I can honestly say you will not be disappointed with this sauce, its amazing on so many levels. I will be preparing this for my Fathers Day Promotional alongside my Chilli Sauce. 17.01.2022 Teaching them young.... Dante producing the first of many recipe cards. Kids in the kitchen are inquisitive and creative, it has allowed Dante a space to be himself, to grow and develop. ... I love seing his little face concocting new recipe ideas, such joy for me to see him experiment with ingredients too (reminds me of me). Also learning how to feel safe using utensils, knifes, blenders, stovetops. Teaching all of this early in life will promote a healthy outlook surrounding cooking, healthy eating, being creative and that cooking ain’t just for females, it gives him power and choice.

My name is Jen, I am a mother of two fun loving boys and been married to my best friend for 16 years. I have always enjoyed cooking, gardening and healthy living and have been procrastinating for many years to get this of the ground til now. 12.01.2022 Cheats Hainan Chicken Rice When it comes to being spoilt for food my two boys dont realise how good they got it, ha ha, Im always under the pump to get good nutritious meals out fast. So Ive adapted my chicken rice recipe to do just that. My boys being part Indian love their rice and noodles and have grown up as I have with an Asian palette ha ha but this meal has to be one of their favorites. It has all the flavours of the traditional style but in half the time. I will tease you with this pic and post a recipe tomorrow. All I will say is it was delish my friends. Night All

02.01.2022 Once upon a time there lived a family who was so busy, their lives were consumed with much stress and work that they never had time to enjoy the beauty and serenity of life. Til disaster struck, so they then decided to rewrite their story...Tales of the Vege Garden and the Epic Chicken Coop. So the story goes...we have always had a vege garden but never had our whole heart in it, we were never completely satisfied with the results, because we were never fully committed, til r...ecently. We decided that we wanted to follow the path to becoming more self sustainable and teach our ourselves and our children how to do that. We (Troy ha ha) started watching YouTube video after YouTube video to educate ourselves enough to get started so we could go out into the big bright world of gardening and get results. Lets start with the Epic Chicken Coop. Troy is a carpenter by trade and builder, he decided to start collecting recycled materials over many months to create this masterpiece. Little did I realise that this ended up being a palace for these lucky little chickens. I think the results speak for themselves. They have a self watering feeder and feed, shade (location is imperative, protection from predators, plus a chicken run and the coop itself with a perch for sleeping) I told you it was a palace If you have any queries on the build, the dos and donts of looking after chickens or just how to get started please contact me as we would love to help you. If you would like to arrange time to see the coop please send me a message. There is no better feeling than walking out into your back yard and collecting fresh eggs, our boys love it. Very grounding and extremely satisfying. 02.01.2022 Hi All, Due to some health issues I experienced this past month and my father being unwell we were delayed in getting our sauce out as previously stated. Fortunately we are back on track and raring to go, look out for our post this week for new details on Papa Khoses Orginal Ginger and Garlic Chilli Sauce. ... As previously mentioned our dear father has been quite unwell, this sauce recipe would not be possible if not for him, he is the heart and soul of the Khose Family. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to learn so many wonderful recipes from both my parents and I would now like to share these with the wider community through The Little Brownie Girl Forum.
