09.01.2022 Such a beautiful day here in Ballarat this morning. As I was loading my groceries in the car, an elderly chap pulled up beside me. He'd be in his mid 80's. We complemented each other on such a beautiful day and how wonderful life is to wake up to days like today, when many can't. He briefly mentioned the people who have had complete devastation throughout Australia lately. Told me he came from Ireland and was in East Gippsland where he met his wife, a nurse in the 50's, wh...o came from Ballarat. He went on to say that she had studied English history and could tell you all there was to know. His most special and most cherished time in his life, was when he finally got the opportunity to take his wife back to visit Ireland. As the stepped onto the ground in Dublin, he greeted her with "welcome". He took her to England were he took her to every place she had wished and dreamed of. Visiting all those places she had studied. As he spoke with such love and admiration of his obviously departed wife, tears welled in my eyes. You know, it dosnt hurt to stop and chat to complete strangers. No matter who they are. Everyone has a story to tell. Memories to share. And you'll both walk away feeling more complete and humble for that brief encounter. Have an awesome day.
