21.01.2022 Hi everyone , looks like farmers in the Western districts, Southern/Mid Mallee and Wimmera regions are going to get a harvest this year which is great, if its not your turn this year then hopefully next year! Just a couple of quick reminders to keep you out of trouble (help you meet your Heavy Vehicle legal obligations whilst keeping the enforcement lads off your tail): ... Most trucks will be operating Locally (within 160 kms of the Driver Base for primary production) during this time and drivers are not required to complete a Work Diary . However, it is still a requirement that records of Local Work hours are recorded as the limitations of hours are the same as Long Haul driving. i.e. must take minimum rest breaks, 12 hours maximum in 24 hours, must have at least 24 hours rest after not more than 6 days etc. The simplest way to meet your obligations is the use of a Local Work Record Book, this book provides for the recording of hours worked, loading weights (for Mass Management), Pre Trip checks etc. All parties must do all that is Reasonability Practicable to ensure the transport of goods is completed safely, our Loading Record Book has been developed to ensure that loads leaving your farm are done so in a safe manner. The books provide for some simple checks and sign offs by the vehicle loader and driver to demonstrate the safety and conformity of the load before it leaves your property. The books are available, including delivery for $27.50, contact us now. If you wish to place an order phone 03 5444 4144, text to 0418 192 431 or Email. Note: If you are one of our Chain of Responsibility (CoR) clients, you should already have these books, if you dont please let us know. If you would like more information on becoming a CoR client, please let us know. Hope you have a successful harvest and please stay safe during this busy period!

16.01.2022 Looks like Farmers in the Victorian Western districts, Southern/Mid Mallee, Wimmera and a large part of NSW are in for a bumper Harvest season, which is great. Just a couple of quick reminders to keep you out of trouble (help you meet your Heavy Vehicle legal obligations whilst keeping the enforcement off your tail): ... Most trucks will be operating Locally (within 160kms of the Driver Base for primary produce) during this time and drivers are not required to complete a National Driver Work Diary, provided their driver base is within the 160km radius. However, it is still a requirement to record your Local Work hours as there is still limitations on your work hours if you are driving a *fatigue regulated vehicle. If you engage with a sub-contractor to haul your product you are a party in the supply chain and have an ongoing responsibility to prevent breaches. : Dont forget to complete your load record information for loads over General Mass Limits. If you wish to contact us to discuss further and/or purchase our Local Work Record and COR Loading Record books please contact us on 03 5444 4144 We hope you have a successful harvest and please stay safe during this busy period!

Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) medical requirements and face-to-face audit requirements, starting from today (Wednesday March 25) These changes are: heavy vehicle drivers operating under Advanced Fatigue Management (AFM) or Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) accreditations may continue to drive with an expired driver medical, until they can practicably obtain one auditors can undertake all document and records validation and audits remotely, requesting electronic copies be emailed to them or by another suitable method and conducting conversations over the phone where applicable. 07.01.2022 After extensive consultation with both the NHVR and Government of South Australia, we can confirm from 1 August 2020, the requirement for SA RAV’s to undergo an annual inspection, or to be in the Maintenance Module of the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme, was removed. This also removes the need for an inspection label. A RAV in SA is a vehicle that:... operates at greater than 42.5 tonnes, such as a road train or B-double, under a National Notice. 05.01.2022 Mass Management top tip! The team here at Mass Management hope you’re well and managing ok in these trying times. We’ve seen a lot of movement in the Transport Industry over the Covid-19 period which is great to see the industry is still going strong. Now is a great time to ensure all your drivers have current and valid driver licences. ... We have a few tips on how you can do this effectively to ensure the risk of having an unlicenced driver is reduced. Under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) it is an offence to employ an unlicenced driver. So you need to do all that is reasonably practicable to make sure drivers have a current licence. If a driver has an accident and their licence is found to be cancelled, disqualified, suspended or expired, your vehicle insurance claim may be invalidated. If you know anyone who this might be helpful for please share or tag them below so they can like our page and keep up to date with the latest news and info in the heavy vehicle industry. If you would like to learn more about this, or the many other services that we help our customers with click the link to our website, and get in touch! https://www.massmanagement.com.au/

05.01.2022 Mass Management Top Tip. Hi everyone, VicRoads and the Mildura Rural City Council have recently approved recent changes to the Victorian Road Train Network, which has been Gazetted for quite a few months (No longer requiring a permit to access if your operating a standard configuration 36.5mtr A-Double) and now includes the recent addition of gazetted roads in the Mildura Rural City Council (MRCC). The map below shows the updated MRCC roads with the majority highlighted in o...range (Conditionally approved mainly dry weather use only). 02.01.2022 a bit of good news for this week. VicRoads has recently opened up additional roads to supplement the current Vic Drought Relief Road Train Network. The most significant addition is the ability to return from NSW/QLD via Barham to Charlton unladen only, this was achieved by a lot of hard work and negotiation completed by one of our clients, Tanya Sait, working collaboratively with Ian Mond, Manager Heavy Vehicle Networks at the Department of Transport Vic. If you wish to apply for a Heavy Vehicle Permit or have queries regarding routes please call us on 03 5444 4144

01.01.2022 Mass Management Top Tip! In 2017 a review of the AS4001 Rear Marker Plates was completed. As a result it was found that these plates were not as durable and the NHVR decided they were to be replaced/fazed out. Initially they put a deadline date that these plates had to be replaced by 31/12/2020 however they have decided this may not be feasible for transport operators and have allowed the plates to be upgraded when they are required to be replaced.... If you currently have the AS4001 Rear Marker Plates displayed on any fleet vehicles/trailers, you can continue to use these plates however when they are required to be replaced you must replace them with the approved Rear Marker Plates. As always if you would like information on this or what we here at Mass Management can do for your business click the link below, have a look through our website and get in touch. https://www.massmanagement.com.au/
