14.01.2022 Scroll for pics of some of our favourite caravan pics It’s a bit surreal to be posting this, but today we handed over the keys of our gorgeous vintage caravan to her new owners. It has been a crazy journey from buying an old vintage van, restoring her, and turning her into a cute mobile cafe. From awesome running events where we didn’t stop selling for 10+ hours, to beach side spots , to caravan parks, to post wedding brunches, and many many more!! ... There were of course some hiccups, with a broken axel (most stressful moment of my life), to learning how to drive the bloody thing!! But I can wholeheartedly say that I am grateful for every experience, and I am stronger and wiser for it. My only disappointment is that since fully renovating and repainting her at the beginning of lockdown, we haven’t had a chance to fully take her out and show her off!! Although personally I quite enjoyed the little lockdown project (Steve may disagree). And if anyone has any caravan questions then hit us up - we are semi experts now . The M.C.G had our sights on scaling, but the Rona put that on pause. So we re-strategised and found that the market right now is optimal for selling food trucks, with a lot of people looking to broaden their businesses to outdoor dining. As we both maintain full time jobs, it was evident that we should capitalise on this current market, and focus on running a smaller operation out of our second fleet vehicle. Whilst it was a tough decision to see her go, I am incredibly happy that we found a buyer who will give her the time and justice she deserves. @oliverlanefoods , I wish you every success with your mobile venture, and I can’t wait to come and visit you. To my Melbourne friends, thank you for you support and patience over the last few years. It’s been a laugh seeing it come together. Especially to those who have worked in the caravan - I wouldn’t have done it without you! Finally, to Steve - our relationship started in the early days of the caravan and I can’t put into words how lucky I feel to have had you beside me. Here’s to many more adventures and watching the MCG grow with our funky versatile coffee Ute. X
