24.01.2022 Happy wednesday! This sensory tray is a bit different from our usual play, its a magical fairy garden ft a dragon N found . We used the magic sand for the green and blue and regular play sand for the beach area.

23.01.2022 Not sure if this is the #chalk prompt or the paint prompt, but I am sure it works as both. This chalk paint was super easy to make and if you swipe, you can see it dries exactly like the chalk would have. Ingredients... @crayola Chalk, water and cornflour. Method: Grate or blend chalk. We grated ours. Add water until you reach a paint consistency. Add some cornflour to thicken it up. If you add to much water, let it stand for a while and it should thicken back up. N had a great time painting everything outside and today the rain cleaned it up. . #sensoryplaymay #shareyourplaywithme @ Mackay, Queensland

22.01.2022 Simple play setup with our SPRING sensory box and our brand new @learningresources scoops and tweezers. These toys are amazing for working finger strength and fine motor skills. We tried rescuing the butterflies with all the different tools. N is 2 at the moment and not confident with scissors, so these scoopers will help. He didnt use them "correctly" at the start, but he is getting the hand of it. ... If you don't have a pair (or two), I highly recommend you grab some. It definitely makes a simply play so much more challenging.

20.01.2022 Antarctica . Oh this was a fun one. . I found some snow from years ago and used it for my iceberg setup. . We used ice blocks for the broken ice bergs so our seals can have a hiding place from the predators. We worked hard on balancing it on the ice though!... . Once N found out that penguins slide into the water, he tried that. He also added more ice blocks in the ocean, which is probably safer for the penguin . . We talked about what antartica could have looked like YEARS ago and found an interesting article about how it was a tropical rainforest.. . Happy earth day! See more

17.01.2022 We just got another sand delivery and the purple magic sand is now more of a lilac colour! It is so different. Lately we have been working on letter recognition and I am always surprised by N. He now recognises most uppercase and lowercase letters. We used our alphabet set from @littlewoodengames and they are such great quality!

17.01.2022 A super #easypeasyplay set up for N using our Ocean Sensory box. We have added the green magic sand to the mix (its not included in the box). We frequently get asked about our black sensory tray which we got from #kmart on clearance. We just saw that our local kmart is getting them back in stock! So if you have been looking, check to see if yours have them! We have our eye on the white tray this time . We will show you the new kmart find which is their Noir coffee table, it works as a sensory tray and table and its the perfect height for toddlers.
17.01.2022 #Repost @play_alongside_us This sensory setup was such a winner! I love simple play ideas that are still meaningful learning experiences, engaging and fun. And this was all that!... . Its always a bonus with little ones when an invitation keeps them engaged longer than it took you to set up and clean up - and often it feels as if thats tricky to accomplish with toddlers. . This cotton sand provided so much awesome sensory exploration and lovely discussion and use of vocabulary as they chatted about, among other things, how orange, stretchy and soft it was and apparently like a web - see the photos and youll probably agree! . The boys have come back again and again to this over the last two days .... and Ive had to join in too. Its slightly addictive !!! . Have you used cotton sand with your little ones? #buymackay
17.01.2022 Sneak peek of our CHRISTMAS sensory box. This month we used a cookie mix as one of the sensory bases! We have also added not one, but two @wilddough.co christmas scented doughs. Some of the items not pictured is christmas coloured felt stars, artificial snow, jingle bells and dough stamps .... Our Christmas Sensory box will keep you and your littles so busy Christmas will sneak up . Our christmas box will officially be released (ready to ship) on the 26th of November.

14.01.2022 Flower cookies We made another batch of the amazing ice cream play dough, however this time we used the betty crocker frosting, which works out cheaper. We followed the #sensoryplaymay prompt for flowers to create this #invitationtoplay and N loved it. He found some gems that we used in our fairy kits and wanted to incorporate that as well.
13.01.2022 Our rock inspired play tray This was a super simple setup with playsand, rocka and construction vehicles. I love the simplicity of play trays because you can put together 2 or 3 things that may seem strange to adults and would provide hours of entertainment for kids.... As evident in the 'after' photo, N's setup was clearly more elobrate than mine . #sensoryplaymay

It is such a strange time and we are not sure wether we will experience a second wave here in QLD, so we are trying to make the most of our freedom. How are our Victorian followers coping with the lockdown?
03.01.2022 The most common question about the sensory boxes are 'what is the recommended age?' We have broken the age down to two factors, reading level and your little ones ability to use small parts. We will always tell you what is included in each sensory box and you have the option to 'swap' out items you feel is outside your comfort zone. ... We have two age groups for the boxes. 6 + months, which will include a simpler board book and no water beads. We will replace the waterbeads with cotton sand, magic sand or snow depending on the theme. 1+ yrs will include water marbles and a read along board book. If your little one already has the book that is included, you can choose the option without the book (no double ups!). Here is our very first activity with our first box, water marble fishing with the @djeco_toys magnetic fishing game (included).
