24.01.2022 Chavez Cartel EP Review ‘#ConfidenceIsAllimtakinghome’ This is a band with the swagger of Mickey Rourke, sound and delivery of Jim Morrison channeling Tom Waits but also the rhythm and blues (rock) backbone akin to Ben harper or Nirvana. Their brand of ‘dirty Rock & Roll’ exudes guitar mastery and the sulking bass lines corralled and cajoled with moody drumming is an ultimate scene creator. This 5 track EP: ‘Confidence is all I’m taking home’ has The Cruel Sea qualities to i...t. Vocally and lyrically winding through lifes experiences with a subjective lens, whilst musically the composition of each song is entirely different. From a haunting #1 ‘Scum & Fears’, to and impressive bass lead #2 ‘Different Underneath’, #3 ear-worms you (‘Love on The Run’) with a splendid guitar hook. It’s an all out Chilli Peppers vibe #4 ‘For Better or Worse’ and the final track #5 ‘See You Again’ (acoustic) is Cobain and Nirvana nuanced and nicely marinaded ‘Cartel style. A bloody ripper! This EP is: Car-worthy, Crib-worthy, Club/Pub-worthy, Chaotic night out-worthy, shit! even Caravan weekend away-worthy! More than worthy; it’s extremely well made and sounds brilliant. Congratulations Chavez Cartel. May you tour again some day soon.. Followed in quick succession was the follow up ‘Confidence Is All I’m Taking Home’ EP which racked up 3 nominations for the 2019 Gold Coast ‘Song Of The Year’ award. 2019 also saw the band jump from local clubs to the festival circuit where they most notably played the Saturday night Main Stage at Rockhampton River Festival along with Australian acts The Vanns and Alice Ivy. 24.01.2022 The Witching Hour - Played Frankie's Pizza By The Slice, Sydney, 27th September 2020. 10 outta 10! You boys had the crowd (metaphorically) jumping out of their chairs, even though ‘we’re not allowed’. (Sit) Dancing and head banging along with every note. I’ve seen you 3 times now, and each time you get so much better, I’m super proud of you, and all you are achieving. Leaping to the stage at Frankies last night were a band that don’t understand the word: Stop. They ONLY unde...rstand the musical energy of: Screams, Drum Solo’s, Keyboard Solo’s, Guitar Solo’s AND Bass Solo’s and boy was that what they delivered. They succeed in making their first gig back (since March) their very best yet. Exceptional. The Witching Hour do understand: Giving it everything performances and of course unlimited energy. As always; they started big and only went bigger. Blasting every tune one after another, with more grunt, more feeling and more crowd enjoyment at a PACKED Sunday night Frankies gig. Brilliant gig boys, keep up the incredible work! 22.01.2022 Brennan Music (USA) Single Review ‘#Killa’ WTF! Why isn’t this ‘2020 Bieber’ signed???! If a 10 year old Canadian drummer-kid can be plucked from obscurity; why can’t a young, healthy, smart, talented groover from LA?! He’s so good looking he could almost be an Australian! Nailed it Brennan. Killa is straight-out boppy-pop. A ‘Jonas Brothers level’ of ear-worm hook. A great boys song that is actually (empoweringly) structured around how powerful a girls/woman’s aura and pr...esence is. So put that in your PC pipe and smoke it: something for everyone. It has that: ‘Earpod air-dancing down to the shops, or travelling to work’ melody, which everyone loves, and replays.. (a hint of Jack Johnson in that voice too!) Brennan has worked it out, he has created a song and tempo that is one step off formulaic, but with it’s happy, bouncy urban LA cheeky (teen) lovability, it sticks. Play it, you have nothing to lose (‘bet you sing it to yourself tomorrow after 1 listen): https://open.spotify.com/track/5VqxmKtwcvyPZ7GnTHp7XE Go Dude! Pity there’s a pandemic mate, otherwise you’d be playing to packed clubs; and ‘meeting’ lots of new friends, whilst doing heaps of face-to-face interviews about ‘who the new hot Pop Star is’. Bloody brilliant. I wish you all the success in the world Written by TG from: The Music Producer Single Release Date: May, 2020 Youtube link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BzS2mak3Cx8 Genre: Pop Rating: 9.5/10 guitars. Members: Brennan Label: Independent BRENNAN Instead of a Bio, here’s what Brennan wrote to me saying, to show how normal and humble this guy is: In just under three months, Killa has been streamed over 175k times, featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds: Pop editorial playlists, and added to over 1,000 user-generated playlists. It’s gained traction in over 84 countries worldwide, with numbers continuing to grow. As for me, I’m a water polo player/theatre kid/sci-fi nerd who’s been working in a restaurant the last two years to help finance my dreams. My music in 3 words: Anthemic, crafty, fierce. My inspiration for the song came when I was shopping in Trader Joe’s and saw a drop-dead beautiful girl. I imagined a scenario in which we dated, and without hesitating, rushed to my car and proceeded to write the entire song. 22.01.2022 The Fossicks - Play Frankie's Pizza By The Slice, 6th August 2020 Gig Date: 6th AugusFrankie's Pizzarankies Pizza Country of Origin: Western Sydney, Sydney, Australia Members: David Pedrucci, Kristian KJ Samulski, Jack Vietze and Jacob Douglas... Support or Headline: Support for Wicked Things (Sydney) Number of times seen band: 3 Genre: Alternative Grunge Rock Rating: 8.5/10 guitars My review: Extremely energetic Vocals were grungy and sounded amazing The crowd loved these boys My favourite song they played was Silk Road. Set list: How Does That Make You Feel? Way Things Go Strut Untitled New Song Gonna Die Anyway Red Right Hand (Nick Cave cover) Silk Road Summary provided by their websites’ about page: The Fossicks are flying the flag of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Four mates from Sydney’s west, the band channels the best of 70s glam crossed with 90s rhythms, and a heap of 80s funk for good measure. Meeting at TAFE, with shared appreciation for the Foos, Chilli Peppers, Arctic Monkeys and the gods Kiss and Sabbath, the four friends initially started as a TAFE band 'Flaccid Mohawk'. A few line-up changes led Jacob Douglas to complete the lineup, for them as The Fossicks. Releasing the Silk Road EP and with gigs up and down the east coast, the band began 2016 by holing up at Sky Valley Studios in NSW Blue Mountains to record an album for release in 2017. Handing the goods over to renowned blues/rock artist Claude Hay to mix. After that the band worked with European mastering artist Andy Becker to achieve the finished sound. With the combination of Jack’s ripping guitar solos, front-man David’s soaring vocals, KJ’s funky bass back-bone and Jacob’s lock-solid rhythms, The Fossicks bring every golden era of rock into one formidable palette, and a sound all their own. Armed with a serious mission to keep Australia rockin’ with an absolute slew of gigs in Sydney and Newcastle, twice grand finalists at the Passport To Airlie Beach Competition (Newcastle), 2018 also saw them showcase at Australian Music Week (Cronulla) and be invited to play Sound City Music Festival (UK 2019) .The Fossicks are now ready to make their mark on the UK and as far as their music travels. Great stuff boys.

22.01.2022 Danny McMartin and The Psychedelic Surfers- Played MoshPit, Sydney. 24th November 2020 Cooler than a summer breeze on a sunny afternoon, more mesmerising than the light shimmering off breaking waves and more heart warming than a mothers kiss. Danny and his bands music is soo cool; I reckon it’s the cure to global warming! A fully instrumental surf rock set that made you feel like there was (actually) singing accompanying it: that is how intensely beautiful Danny & The Phych’ ...Surfers made the MoshPit feel last night. Refreshing, yet familiar. Adventurous, yet calming and secure. Friggin’ awesome, yet friggin’ awesome! There is something soulfully saintly about Danny McMartin; I’m betting this man could walk on water, but is too humble to prove it. So he just surfs on water instead. Danny’s Surf Rock style is a modern take on a classic genre, presenting it in a fresh way for a new generation to discover and embrace. His music stylings are a homage to The Ventures, Dick Dale and The Shadows. Danny is no stranger to bringing his music to all corners of the globe, performing in London, touring throughout Asia as well as being a regular on the local Sydney music scene. He’s performed intimate shows for the likes of some of the music industries finest such as Amy Winehouse, Jamiroquai and the Clash. He has joined members of INXS on stage to perform some of their greatest hits. His latest single: ‘Surf Your Life Away’ is the breath of fresh air that everyone is waiting for after enduring the events of the past year. You may not be able to travel to the far-flung destination of your dreams but ‘Surf Your Life Away’ will provide you with the escape that you need. Rating: 10/10 guitars Genre: Surf Rock Members: Danny, Zac, Simeon and Alex Set list: Mexican Standoff (unreleased original) Batman Theme (Danny Elfman cover) Eternal Tube Smells Like Tube Spirit (unreleased original) Tequila (The Champs cover) Surfer Libre Misirlou (Dick Dale cover) Surf My Life Away Wipe Out (The Surfaris cover)

21.01.2022 Pink Øctopus EP Review ‘#PinkOctopus’ (Self titled ICYMI) Grungy Skate funk with muddy rock (‘Peppers) rapped ‘Faith No More’-edness, double funked up (again) with the room filling, body slamming, beer spraying, shots at the bar later, good times of a sound and edge. I fucking loved it from track 1! Bass player Benny would make Flea need a cold shower, he’s THAT on it! All 3 lads obviously shape-shift or double personality the groove because, as with it’s famous predecesso...rs: Peppers, Incubus, Primus, FNM, RATM, this band created each track to have the sonics and full experience of a live gig but with the subtly and skill of producing what others can only do in the studio, whilst hurtling around like they’re on stage at Wembley’. Is this just ‘thrash p/funk’ for the: baseball cap backwards, long surfy hair, chino shorts, wearing, moshers? NAH, this is some broad appeal (badass) well played, fine, refreshed, 90’s-naughties nostalgia vibe, music. That has ‘turn the music up!’ and ‘party! written all over it for young and old, boy and girl. * Disclaimer: I would still recommend track 1 at volume 10 to kick off your EP listening experience A fine 5 track EP, cleverly self titled for that extra double brand recognition oomph! I repeat: I fucking loved it from track 1! 18.01.2022 Cherae Leri Single Review (#Feel) from debut Album ‘#ThePainThatSexBrings’ FEEL (single) Wistfully, soulfully, warm, and beautifully flowing in both; it’s pace and melody. This song is a ‘Woman’s conscience’ talking out loud. An inner conversation of rhetorical questions (to one’s self) to confirm your own true emotions. Cherie has a lovely calming voice, seducing all who listen. Especially when she’s singing about seduction This 24 year old singer-songwriter, originally fr...om ST Louis, Missouri now living in Atlanta released her debut album The Pain That Sex Brings on June 19th. Cherae’s album has already reached as high as number 4 of Itunes Top 40 US R&B albums and now number 1 on Amazon for Best Seller in R&B Tell me that ain’t SOME TALENT?? This is the heart and soul (female) honesty album that I guarantee would be played on all home speakers when the ‘Lady of The House’ gets her world and solitude back. Outstanding (album) Cherae, I liked it for your gutsy voice and the whole flow of the entire album. The album follows her 2019 EP release Conscience and features production from Ashilee Roberts, Kidd Jupiter, Backpack, Ble$$ed, E9 BEATS, Nick Fury, Chriz Beats and Kevin McCall, as well as engineering efforts from Ashilee Roberts and Scotti Taylor and lyricism from Haisha Porter, Jia Miss Ikonic McMillan-Shipley, Milly Mendoza and Dam Tam.The music from The Pain That Sex Brings incorporates nostalgic, sultry RnB, grown and sexy tendencies and intrepid inclinations amid a medley of soul, hip-hop and alternative genres. The album channels a 1990’s Janet Jackson aura and is imbued in lessons learned, seductive vibes and unapologetic womanhood. Lyrically, it features tales of relational breakdowns and recoveries, love, pain, sensuality, and growth as each record delves into pensive moments sonically recaptured and narrated by Cherae. It’s a roller coaster ride of the love, lust and disaster of your mid 20’s but not limited to. In this album she’s open, honest, unwavering, and unguarded. She brings forth authentic, sexy, and confident RnB bearing it all for those who indulge in her art. 13.01.2022 Linear Single Review ‘#PortraitsofGhosts’ Whizz Bang! This is an absolute battle cry. A song to ‘rally the troops’ . With heavy guitar flares whipped through duelling post modern punk riffs and rhythms beaten by a 1000 hooves of drumming to set up a the songs pinnacle with a metal ‘voice-off’ confrontational medley to really drive the message of the lyrics home. This is a song about despair, disbelief and anger. Played in an upbeat, BIG-rock, driven, anthem style with a ver...y solid rhythm section. The boys created it as a motivational piece that would musically set the scene where you were angry (too) about the state of the world today: Injustice and falsehood I like the voice distortion on Cody, and how Moog and Jalen swirl into notes and tones of Blink 182/Chilli Peppers when they let loose, only to almost ‘My Chemical Romance’ it back down for the chorus melody. This is a huge, TURN IT UP! Beast of a song that I’m sure will delight many of mixed genres and tastes because of it’s subject matter and message. Another bunch of Newcastle boys doing their city proud. Have a look-see for yourself: https://www.facebook.com/LinearBandAU/videos/1012079695890507/UzpfSTE4MjI1NzI3NTI6MTAyMTM0NDMwNjg1MTA3ODk/ Written by TG from: The Music Producer Single Release Date: August, 2020 Genre: Melodic-Hardcore, Pop Punk Rating: 8.5/10 guitars. 11.01.2022 Music On Stage (Sydney) Shout Out & Thank you! Awesome AV gear and pricing for everyone. Ask for Alex, he works mid day onwards.. Review: Outstanding. Essential service workers to the industry and Indie/Alt/Rock/DJ’s & bands from; birth through until they reach success and beyond. They do online sales, they will talk to you on the phone beforehand, They have the shop, they are nice people, they are good at their SHIT! If they haven’t got what you want, they’ll get it for you.... Make them your new friends. They’ll help you. Context: So we are setting up a (small) ‘first timer’ home vocals and mixing studio, with a full (home) recording studio to follow. After fluffing around on the inter-web for big brand foreign kit , and mistakingly buying an interface before even having anything to plug into it!: we went to Music On Stage on Parramatta Rd at Stanmore (in Sydney). Alex was brilliant. Been doing it for years from starter (us) through to touring bands and recording studios. Result: We walked out of the shop with a Shure SM58 stand and kit, a Yamaha Mixer and interface, two studio monitor speakers and heaps of leads for less than the cost of the ‘big-brand’ internet interface that came with no connecting cables!! 10.01.2022 In Eyes Pre-launch Single Review ‘#TheDreamer’ (Out on the 3/9/20) An aspirational anthem for the: seething, sweaty stadium/festival crowds. Pumping their fists in the air, in crowd-unison, as they chant the chorus back of this song: That is ‘The Dreamer’. 10.01.2022 Mourners- Played Frankie's Pizza By The Slice, Sydney. 22nd November 2020 What does the Devil have playing in his EarPods? Mourners When you’re going to hell, or freshly arrived, and see the scorched wastelands between the welcome lounge and torture racks; what band would be playing live and providing the ultimate soundtrack and songs: Mourners For nice guys: their sound is pure (death/doom) gold plated evil in its exemplary depth and blood dripping, bass driven, soul stealin...g, purity. For a brand new band that has only 4 months under their (henchmen) belt; they are professional Doom Metal ass kickers!!! In fact they sound like they’ve kicked more ass than a donkey herder! Mourners got together in August 2020 and their musical styles clicked together really nicely. They wrote their set in only two jams and after the third one they played their first show at the Crowbar. 07.01.2022 Nelss (Paris now, Lisbon originally) Single Review #InTheUnknown This song, and Nelss, have a gentle flamboyance about them. ‘In The Unknown’ is (our) inner emotional voice yearning for all to continue during a romantic encounter that is happening real-time, as the ‘new’ feelings are being expressed. But without the certainty, and potential ‘love’ security, of what’s next (The Unknown). With the vocals and melodies smoothly, wistfully, seductively washing over you like a we...Continue reading

01.01.2022 Neo Rose EP Review ‘#WrySmile’ Totally playable day to day. Not a: ‘when I’m in the mood’ or ‘Yeah, once in a while’ EP. Neo has a naturally great energetic and emotionally tuned voice which is what gives ‘Wry Smile’ its warmth and ‘friendliness’. But he, even if subconsciously, exceptionally demonstrates the depth of all of his musical influences. Not as in copying - but he nails his own version of how famous name musicians became who they are/were. Let me outline it per tr...Continue reading
