25.01.2022 My little painting helper Cannot wait to move our stock into the newly renovated stockroom. Did you know you can buy paint that doesn’t off-gas as much as traditional paints? Meaning it’s better for your health. ... They’re called Low VOC and No VOC paints and the smell is heavily reduced. VOC stands for ‘volatile organic compounds’ and they’re found in many building materials and are partially responsible for that new paint smell. These unstable chemicals let off gases that can be very harmful to people and the environment. Whilst there are other questionable chemicals in paint that are hard to avoid, using Low VOC or No VOC is an easy way to reduce some of the toxic load.
