24.01.2022 This such a beautiful initiative from the wonderful Bunbury Health Campus’s to honour the gorgeous angel babies that never leave ones hearts

23.01.2022 Oh yes Josie I hear you!! My husband often marvels at how I can be out of bed in a flash and totally ‘with it’ when my phone rings for a birth, but it takes me a hot shower and 2 coffees before I function on a regular day! #midwifelife #homebirth #hospitalbirth #birthjunkie #normalisebirth

22.01.2022 If you’ve ever seen me pause and look in the air for a word for what may seem like an eternity at times, this is why!!

22.01.2022 I LOVEEEEEE so many of these books!!! Check out the comments for some great suggestions for books that will inform and empower mummas, And definitely get Sarah’s book- Gentle Birth Gentle Mothering!!!

21.01.2022 WOWWWWW LADIES IF YOU CAN ATTEND THIS EVENT- DO!!!!! https://fb.me/e/iGvWHSC5q

21.01.2022 Not only do I have one of the most amazing jobs in the world but sometimes I receive some of the most gorgeously thoughtful gifts! How beautiful are the earrings handmade by this beautiful home birthing mumma??!!

19.01.2022 Feeling so very blessed to be witness to the arrival of some gorgeous strong little souls of late to strong warrior mummas Side note- how gorgeous is this carved door sign that I arrived to find yesterday!!

19.01.2022 What a photo!!! Has anyone experienced a compound presentation? They are such a common occurrence and require patience, patience, patience!!

18.01.2022 If you’re keen for an antenatal workshop with a difference, I can not rate Rheas work highly enough

18.01.2022 Gosh women are amazing!! Bless this amazing organ!! It is the second heart of a mother, because it is there she forms the hearts of her children

17.01.2022 Emotional security is such an important issue to talk about!!! All too often I hear stories of women not being empowered, respected, or even ‘seen and heard’ by their caregivers, this is NOT ok ladies!!! Emotional security is sooooo important, and if your caregivers aren’t addressing this something crucial is missing!!!

17.01.2022 Let’s talk food mummas- What’s your favourite postnatal/breastfeeding snacks? One thing I got better at postnatally was nourishing myself. With my first baby I was pretty good and found porridge and salads with tuna were my favourite snacks. Second baby I didn’t do so great with the nourishing and my emotional and mental health definitely paid the price of not valuing nutrition! Third baby I was back into nourishing foods- bliss ball slice, apple slices with milk boosting goodies spread on top, fresh fruits, yummy soups and leftovers! Eat all the food mummas! Make yourself a platter, lunchbox or goodies box on the couch for when those marathon breastfeeding sessions come along! You wouldn’t drive a car without fuel

15.01.2022 Sharing again for those mummas who need this right now, cluster feeding is normal for breastfed bubbas

15.01.2022 Sharing because I know so many mummas feel this way!! 2020 was a harddddd year, not just because of the evil bat virus and all the hardship it brought, it was a year of loss, a year of ‘pivoting’ (gosh does anyone else hate that word too??) and a year of stretchinggggg to lengths and ways you didn’t even know you were capable of! But the one thing I will say now it has finished is- you did it, you’re here! Feel totally ok with accepting that surviving was enough, and crying, grieving and feeling lost in the newbornness of 2021 is ok, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!

15.01.2022 I really love this!! Postnatal depletion and burn out are very much a thing ladies!!!

14.01.2022 What happens for the mother who has both

14.01.2022 Do you like having a purple book, would prefer an app, would prefer different features?? Have your say through this online consultation!

14.01.2022 Have you utilised the power of Affirmations?? Think it’s a load of rubbish? Think of Muhammad Ali I am the greatest - I’m sure he didn’t FEEL he was the greatest but he KNEW he could become the greatest- inner knowledge can be more powerful than the strongest fear, trust in the power of affirmations!!!

14.01.2022 #birthtatts I love kids!!! I still recall my daughter asking what the rainbows on my face were- ie the wrinkles you get on your forehead! Instead of cringing I owned it, how lucky am I to have rainbows on my face?!!

14.01.2022 This is so beautiful, every pregnancy ends in a birth, no matter the gestation or loss a mother still grieves. As a midwife and a mumma I feel these words, and we remember our little angel babies born sleeping

13.01.2022 What do you think mummas, what’s your ‘best’ postpartum gift?? Mine would have to be meals, baby cuddling so mumma can sleep, cleaning vouchers, Hakka breast pump, Blissful Herbs nipple cream and after birth tinctures and teas, soft cloth wrap sling....

12.01.2022 Have you ever considered a homebirth? Do you have any questions about it?? I’m a HUGE Rhea Dempsey fan (her Birthing with Confidence book is awesome!!) and I love her even more now for sharing these fantastic homebirth statistics and getting on board with Homebirth Awareness Week!!

11.01.2022 I love working alongside Toni and Miranda at MN Accounting + Bookkeeping Solutions! Im a great midwife but an accountant I am not so I’d be totally lost without their tax and accounting brains!!! Thanks ladies for the fun snaps too!!!

10.01.2022 Posting in case any mummas use Infants Friend, please tag and share

10.01.2022 You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always love you, Peter Pan. That’s where I’ll be waiting. Who knew Tinkerbell had wisdom of Zwischen?! https://www.mothering.com//the-last-days-of-pregnancy-a-/

09.01.2022 Had to share for a Thursday funny

09.01.2022 Sharing again as this is so fabulous!!!

09.01.2022 Have you heard of cup feeding a newborn?! When I was training with some amazing English trained midwives we never bottle or finger fed babies in the nursery they were always breastfed or cup fed unless they Needed a nasogastric tube which was relatively rare, our babies are so clever!!

09.01.2022 Oh my Rhea I agree whole heartedly, there are no two births alike and not should there be!! No the perfect birth, like the perfect pot, arises from honouring the beauty of the process and the tempering of the individual elements that gave rise to this particular birth

07.01.2022 The lost art of abdominal palpation, a skill I absolutely love sharing with mummas and their families and our gorgeous future midwives!

06.01.2022 Every mumma has such a unique Birth Song, sing those songs with pride mummas, sing those babies down!! On a side note WOW what a divine birth space!!!

05.01.2022 I’m a huge @sarawickham fan for her wonderful research round ups and evidence based info hubs! Here’s a huge shout out to all the water birthing mummas!!!

05.01.2022 What a stunning memorial piece for an angel baby

04.01.2022 Yah Southwest babywearing meets are back!!! If you’re not to sure which sling/wrap/carrier you need or would love to try some and speak to some gorgeous ladies who have a wealth of knowledge this is well worth attending!!!

04.01.2022 Certainly these are some of the ‘requirements’ of a homebirth, noticeably there is nothing on here that can be bought from a shop!

03.01.2022 For the mummas waiting to meet their new family member Because though I am not new to motherhood, being needed by more than one person is new. Needing to care for two little people is new. This baby boy who might look similar to his older brother but is completely different might not be my first baby, but he is still a new baby to me. I've slowly started to realize I can't be the same mother I was before because every child changes you, challenges you and grows you in a new way https://www.mother.ly//becoming-a-mama-of-2-was-harder-tha

03.01.2022 It’s World Mental Health Day and I felt it was incredibly timely to share this insight around an aspect of ‘normal’ postnatal mental health

03.01.2022 For all the mums in need of a giggle right now

02.01.2022 What does a homebirth bag do when she’s got some downtime?? Go on year 6 camp with our big girl of course! It’s so lovely to have her back home again and my homebirth bag is still telling me stories of the shenanigans they got up to

02.01.2022 How wonderful that in Bunbury universal screening for Group B Strep is no longer standard practice!

02.01.2022 I can’t recommend this mini course enough!! Well worth 15minutes of your day! https://m.facebook.com/groups/mamaleemidwife

02.01.2022 Yah Kangatraining is back! Very excited to hear that there are ever increasing baby and toddler friendly exercise options for mummas around the Southwest!!

01.01.2022 Awesome to see another great Harvey Shire initiative for the growing number of 0-6’s!! Looks like great fun

01.01.2022 If anyone is keen the Possums approach is absolutely fabulous!
