25.01.2022 Cooking can help young kids learn and practice some basic math concepts and build language skills. And the experience of creating meals with you can help build their self-confidence and lay the foundation for healthy eating habits. The children and educators at The Oak Seed Dilga retrieved some spinach from our gardens, we prepared it to cook . So this afternoon we are having beef stroganoff for lunch and we added our very fresh home grown spinach to the mix. The smell is amazing and Preschoolers love to show what they can do and working in the kitchen provides opportunities to gain a sense of accomplishment.

12.01.2022 Many Australians celebrate Halloween, which occurs annually on October 31. Typical festive Halloween activities include trick-treating, attending costume parties, decorating, carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted house attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories and watching horror films. At Oak Seed Dilga ELC the children participated in some fantastic art work in typical Halloween themed colours, construction of so...me pretty scary monsters out of recycled materials and even some group discussions about pumpkins and all things Halloween as well as there was a lot of discussion about Halloween and the origin of Halloween and what it means to the children. They also participated in many art and craft activities as well as dressing up every day! It is always great to see the lengths that the staff and families go to for dress up days and the children thoroughly enjoy them!
