21.01.2022 So excited to see Weigall Oval under lights tonight. It looks absolutely amazing. Fair to say that the future looks very bright for the Angels family in more ways than one. So, so, many people to thank for this masterpiece coming together, the wait will certainly be worthwhile.

06.01.2022 SOFTBALL, October 17, 2020 MAGPIES DOUBLE COMEBACK By Robert Laidlaw PORT ADELAIDE TWICE CAME from behind to snatch an exciting 4-3 victory over reigning premie...r Sturt, in A grade softball at Diamond Sports, Adelaide Shores. Big triples were the main blows of the game, the first by the Falcons’ Jessie Keech in the fourth inning and the second was a match-winning two-run blast by Port’s Megan Williams in the fifth. With pitchers Mikayla Jankovic (Magpies) and Sturt’s Millie Fidge engaged in a tight battle, runs were hard-earnt and scarce early in the game. Only one run was scored in the first three frames, by the Falcons in the second dig, when a combination of three walks and two bunts by Neve Adams and Jessie Keech gave Sturt plenty of opportunities, but two runners were lost at third base. At the top of the fourth inning Port hit the front with a pair of runs, on Taylor Chillingworth’s big two-run double, for the Magpies to go ahead 2-1. But the Falcons were quick to respond with two tallies in the bottom of the fourth to regain the advantage, Keech hitting a three-bagger and scoring on Ada Caruana’s single. To continue the topsy-turvy scoring, Port again hit the front at the top of the fifth dig, when Jess Neves singled, Ella Forrester bunted and Kara Tilton reached on an error to set up Williams’ big three bagger. Sturt could not answer in either the bottom of the fifth or sixth frames, although losing a runner at the plate for the third out of the fifth. Both pitchers went the distance, both conceding six hits, while Fidge also collected six strikeouts. WALKERVILLE BROKE OUT THE BATS to collect its first triumph of the season, after two losses, beating Seacombe 10-3. It looked anything but a winning game for the Cats at the top of the third inning, when consecutive hits by Seacombe’s Jade Peterson, Aroha Munroe and Jazz Blight scored two runs to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead. But it was all Walkies the rest of the way, starting with four runs in the bottom of the third. Lisa Yancic was hit by a pitch, Karyn Dale bunted, Sophie King and Hayley Bonython hit singles and Sophie Roberts belted a two-run triple 6-3 the Cats. Fuelled by errors, Walkerville scored two times in each of the final two frames to dominate proceedings, as Sally Colquist came on to pitch and shut out the Tigers in their final two innings. WITH GEORGIA HOOD DOING the job from the circle and with the bat, Hills beat West Torrens 7-5. While Hood complimented her pitching with two big doubles, she had plenty of friends in the batting box. Abi Jorgensen hit a RBI triple in the second frame to give the Heat an early 1-0 lead. But the Eagles put together a great top of the third, highlighted by great baserunning by Jordan Lambert and Lana Kaesler to score runs, while Kelsey Knuckey hit a RBI double, for a 3-1 lead. Hills responded first with three runs in the bottom of the third to regain the lead, after hits to Madi Rocher, Georgia Hood, Peyton Daniels and Dani Perez, then with five consecutive hits in the fourth scored another three tallies, as Alex Mackay joined with Rocher, Hood, Daniels and Perez in the avalanche. With time running out West Torrens did challenge with two-runs at the top of the fifth, but was retired with the bases loaded to fall two runs short. Over the five innings, Georgia Hood only gave up three hits, while collecting five strikeouts. * * * * * RESULTS: Port Adelaide d Sturt 4-2 (hits: Port Neves, Tilton, Williams, Strapps, Chillingworth, Callaghan; Sturt J.
