25.01.2022 Crossroads: the best roads in the world and the people who ride them. This is a new series of motorcycling documentaries - I can't wait to view them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=legIjMKBKkM

24.01.2022 I'm not a great fan of the Volkswagen brand, but as marketing videos go, this is one of the best I've seen. What do you think?

24.01.2022 I appreciate the time, effort and workmanship involved in this build, I just don't see the point. What do you think? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDSPKlm71rQ

22.01.2022 A Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster dirt bike. Whodathunkit? Amazing workmanship! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWUDiDiqg-M

22.01.2022 Another great story from Petrolicious - a 1982 Honda CBX 1000 (6 cylinder). The pinnacle of motorcycle engineering in the early 1980s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM0zZQ6Lwdk

21.01.2022 I just discovered a Motorcycle and Lifestyle Magazine from France called Super Special. It's in French and English and it's free. Go to https://superspecialmagazine.com//SuperSpecial_Free_N_22.p

20.01.2022 I've just bought one of these: an RF GT with black roof and 6 speed manual. I don't think of it as a mid-life crisis, it's more like a second childhood. It's the most fun you can have at the speed limit! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLHSvIdj0U8

19.01.2022 The Holy Grail of classic motorcycles. This is the bike the old mechanic restores in my book, "Dominator in the Shadows." Enjoy

18.01.2022 Dear friends, Since 2013, I have written and published five novels, a book of short stories and a booklet of poetry. All of my works have been available as Kindle eBooks from the beginning. However, The Old Mechanic series were only available in hard copy for as long as I had a financial arrangement with Lightning Source, the company that printed and distributed my books worldwide. That arrangement ceased in March of last year, and so once the few printed books had been sold,... they were no longer available until now. My two most recent books (Tommo’s Terrific Triumph Trident and Of Life and Motorbikes and Other Stuff) were both published by Kindle Direct Publishing (Amazon) using their publishing program. The only problem is that it is very fiddly and not very user friendly, especially the Cover Creator. I spent an entire day trying to upload a .pdf file to their wizard, but with limited success. Nevertheless, with lots of perseverance, I succeeded. I now have all of my books available as both eBooks and in hardcopy (paperback) from Amazon worldwide. Happy days! I still have a number of copies of all of my books if you prefer hard copies, just contact me for a price.

18.01.2022 Last Sunday, a friend asked me about the scar on my leg. When I told her that I had had a motorbike accident, she went into a diatribe about motorbikes and that anyone who rides one deserves to die. Nothing I could say would change her mind. She just doesn't get it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrnX-QsVQj0

18.01.2022 What a great story. I wish my son had an interest in motorcycles like this young lady. Enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ow0Cp3QfTo

16.01.2022 A new Kawasaki Z900 RS or an original Z900. Does superior performance, better brakes and 35kg less weight trump a classic Zed? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f7OgglUhP4

16.01.2022 A 64 degree lean angle - it defies physics! Amazing! Enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHYdeGLLPro

16.01.2022 Who in their right mind would put an 8 litre V10 motor from a Dodge Viper into a motorcycle frame. It must weight half a tonne or more. But I have to give him credit for the workmanship. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANwiN2jAa3s

16.01.2022 The motorcycle is a custom Yamaha Niken. The description reads: "A skeletal, bare-metal insect of a thing, it just needs a Terminator riding on its back to look like the ultimate post-apocalyptic bike of doom." Oh, really?

16.01.2022 The two best retro bikes from any Japanese company. I can't choose between them. Which one would you choose? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7foHsy0QpI

15.01.2022 Hi everybody, As we all self-isolate during this COVID-19 pandemic, I've realised that this is a good time to catch up on reading. This has been borne out by an increase in sales of my ebooks on Amazon. It's also an opportunity for me to write more. If you haven't read all or any of my books (there're four in The Old Mechanic Series, one standalone Tommo's Terrific Triumph Trident, a book of short stories called Of Life and Motorbikes and Other Stuff, as well as a booklet of ...poetry), you can still get copies of all my books from me at a discounted price. Just email me for details. For those not in Australia, Amazon is the best option. Cheers, Peter https://theoldmechanic1.wixsite.com/book See more

15.01.2022 Do you use Wikipedia? How about contributing to their costs.

14.01.2022 I like the Egli Vincent better in red, but I'm not sure about the green stripe down the tank. Maybe he's a rabbitohs supporter! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWQ7oSSsNPA

13.01.2022 Rennie Scaysbrook is an Aussie living in SoCal working for Cycle News. This is a great road test of a special bike. Watch it and enjoy.

13.01.2022 I've long been interested in Egli Vincents, but I'm not sure about the cacky-yellow colour scheme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYDrr5FOMHs

13.01.2022 The first bike I ever had a ride on as a pillion was a mate's Kawasaki Mach 3 500, the scariest bike ever. Here's one that looks even scarier!

12.01.2022 I couldn't have said it better myself.

12.01.2022 What a fantastic looking motorbike. It's a 1975 Triumph Trident Cafe Racer with a Triumph Bonneville frame, and bits and pieces from period bikes. It's a work of art. Enjoy

12.01.2022 Another outstanding contribution from Stories of Bike. A must watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Hx1-Ll290o

12.01.2022 What a lovely old motorbike. Truly, the Rolls Royce of motorcycles.

11.01.2022 How can you avoid being infected by COVID-19? Practice social distancing, of course. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxP3dd65IVI

11.01.2022 Who says you need an adventure bike to have an adventure? Enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgvzunWV740

11.01.2022 This is the last episode of a series of tips to safe riding. It's well worth watching.

09.01.2022 Now, this is the kind of cafe racer I want. What a terrific looking machine ... but that riding position! Oh my aching back.

09.01.2022 How one person can make a difference.

08.01.2022 I love riding the Great Ocean Road, but I don't think I could keep up with these two. Enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Gisci68Jrc

08.01.2022 A Small Price to Pay? I was 53 years old when I first noticed a change in my voice, suggesting that something was not quite right. When I spoke, it was as if my tongue could not keep up with my brain. I was slurring my words. That was 11 years ago. Since then, I have been tested for a variety of conditions, including CADASIL, Fragile X, Gluten Ataxia, Hereditary Spinocerebellar Ataxia and Multiple Sclerosis. All the while new and different symptoms arose. Eventually, I was d...Continue reading

02.01.2022 Now, this is more like it, an Egli Vincent with a Black Show motor, in black, of course. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3KrrX3-iVQ

02.01.2022 Anyone who rides at the Isle of Man TT is brave. Anyone who wins is a legend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17SoTD9fT6I

02.01.2022 When it comes to motorcycle riders, there are really just two types: those who love to cruise, and those who love twisties. This is the type of road the latter type love. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLVU6rnp58I

01.01.2022 Hmm! Dios Miller? I know Jack Miller is a good MotoGP rider, but calling him a god, that's a step too far. What do you reckon? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW0bI8yblmY

01.01.2022 How cool is this. I might not have had to give up riding if this was available here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t30NU_v5YcM
