23.01.2022 My New York City gallery was released yesterday. Those guys at SALA are working hard - even on weekends! https://www.salafestival.com//prog/view/4990/new-york-city

22.01.2022 The solid brass ‘New York’ calendar is made by hand in Adelaide by local craftspeople. It’s a beautiful big chunk of vintage style glory. The texture and undulations of the brass are beautiful. Perfect for anyone’s desk. Re-use the solid brass stand in future to display more of your favourite Sue McKay prints. It’s something that lasts for ever. Also available in the ‘Bali’ and ‘Isolation’ range.

22.01.2022 Today's Daily: Creating memories.

22.01.2022 Last chance! Final calendar orders feeding through today before shut off in time for Christmas delivery. The Isolation Gallery has proven to be the crowd favourite, with solid brass desk calendar the popular style of choice. #Calendar #Stationery #Style #Christmas

22.01.2022 While I tamper with my website and figure out how to add a shopping cart and things to make everything click through - like tickety boo - here is a sample of the images I've been working on during COVID-19, now available for purchase. There's more to come, but sometimes you've gotta bite the bullet and press "release", even if the whole website gallery is not 100%. And... GO!

21.01.2022 The Other Sue McKay is nowhere to be found right now. This post is right from the human heart and mind.

21.01.2022 Lately I’ve taken to enjoying our balcony more than usual. I come out here each morning (weather pending) to have my coffee and write in my journal. This morning, being Christmas and all, I was really looking forward to it. But from the inside of my warm and cosy lounge room I could see the leaves on the trees swaying back and forth from the wind. The breeze through the open window was chilly but the idea of an unobstructed view of the sun, sky and landscape was inviting. N...ormally, the thought of being uncomfortable from the cold would win and I would stay inside, but this morning I heard my inner voice say the same words I’ve been hearing for the past week. Show up. I’m going through a patch of trying harder to do uncomfortable things and accepting that it might not be perfect, I may not feel great about it and things will possibly not turn out as I’d like them to. But just showing up is winning. So I’m trying to show up more. Less reluctance, more showing up. So I’m sitting outside on the balcony this Christmas morning as I write this. With my bad circulation my fingers and toes are getting a bit numb from the cold. A small price to pay for the view and experience. How lucky are we to have a balcony. The other thing about this is that I’m learning it’s ok to feel uncomfortable. A bit of chilled air and rickety hands from writing in the wind isn’t going to kill me. I like feeling. I want to feel. Even numbness is a feeling! If you should have an uncomfortable Christmas Day, if it’s not perfect and doesn’t turn out like you hoped it would, remember what matters most is showing up. Look for the sunshine in your day. Merry Christmas xo

20.01.2022 My daily for this weekend. "What We're Called To Do."

20.01.2022 Like this sunrise, there were days throughout 2020 when the reluctance to rise up was too strong to overcome. Purchase "Reluctant Sunrise" fine art print from $17.

19.01.2022 "SEND A SALAMI" fine art print has been released as part of the New York City gallery. A small deli in New York’s Lower East Side has been serving locals since 1888. Originally under the name of "Iceland Brothers", Katz's Delicatessen became a regular in the early part of the 20th century for the thousands of newly immigrated families. During World War II, the three sons of the owners were serving their country in the armed forces, and the family tradition of sending food to ...their sons became the company slogan Send A Salami To Your Boy In The Army (TM). To this day Katz's Delicatessen goods can be shipped anywhere in the USA. The deli has been featured in books and films including the famous scene in When Harry Met Sally ("I'll have what she's having!"). Each week thousands of visitors from around the world (including me) visit Katz's to devour amazing sandwiches, platters and meats. But it's New Yorkers that make Katz what it is, spreading the word and recommending it as a must-have experience, just as my AirBNB host did for me. I shared a table with locals as I devoured the most popular dish of them all, the pastrami on rye. I savoured the unique Lower East Side atmosphere that packed every crevice, and reached for my camera to capture the scene which would imprint Katz's Delicatessen to my memory and win an award with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. 19.01.2022 GETTING THROUGH WHAT HURTS This is my story of the year 2014; perhaps akin to what many others are experiencing in 2020. Loved ones dying unnecessarily, a flailing business, a marriage suffering, and self esteem left wondering. Getting through what hurts, hurts. But it’s worth it. https://www.suemckay.com/blog/getting-through-what-hurts

15.01.2022 Today's Daily is about Forgiveness and Ego. Last night I refreshed my podcast feed to find Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday most recent episode on Forgiveness at the top of the list. The following episode was all about Ego. Both were brought to my ears by the Law of Attraction, working at its best.

14.01.2022 When something resonates it has already sparked a connection with your being. A pulse is created, and you have the choice of nurturing the fusion by bringing it to life, or ignoring its call for existence. #NYC #writing #photography #TheOtherSueMcKay

06.01.2022 Because I’m writing right now about writing, I am feeling the pressure to entertain you the reader, and that’s not why I’m here. Not today. Today I just want to write. To say whatever comes to my mind. Just like I do with my journal. #Writing

06.01.2022 Explore. Revisit. View from a different perspective, with fresh eyes. What do you see? . I love this pic. It’s an image within an image I photographed in 2016 while walking Seaport District, Manhattan. . All the times I’ve looked through my images from my NYC I’ve never seen this. Maybe it’s the We Are All In This Together sign that’s stood out to me this evening. But I love it.... . I love the worker standing nonchalantly, I love the contrast of the woman walking past the sign, sleeve cuffs beyond her hands and gazing at him, sussing out what he’s up to. . It doesn’t even look like Manhattan. Where is the hustle and bustle? . . . #wereallinthistogether #nyc #manhattan #fineartphotography #theothersuemckay #photography See more

03.01.2022 Pleasure is always derived from something outside you, whereas joy arises from within - @eckharttolle . . . Sunrise. A new day. Another chance to start over and a reminder to connect with self today (everyday). Can it be as simple as actualising internal knowings of what is good for you? Healthy habits, spending time with people that light you up, being creative, putting good into the world. Only we know what makes us vibrate to the beat of our drum. #SelfAwareness #SelfCare #EckhartTolle #Sunrise #ConnectWithSelf
