23.01.2022 Change is hard. But what if we broke it down and just focused on that first step - awareness. How can we just step back and notice what isn't working today - those patterns that we get into that don't serve us well, but that we find it very difficult to step out of? When we take control of our own lives and keep taking those tiny steps towards growth, we set off a wonderful chain reaction in our families.
18.01.2022 A new term is about to begin and we've almost made it! Well done for all your hard work and efforts during these past few months. As we prepare to see out the final (here's hoping!) week of Learn From Home, some children might be anxious at the idea of returning to school. Michael Grose has some great strategies that can help if your child is struggling in this area. Check out his book 'Anxious Kids' as well. https://theparentswebsite.com.au/michael-grose-strategies-/
18.01.2022 Have you ever done this tech experiment? Screens are such a tricky part of our existence, particularly right now in the midst of Learn From Home. How do you manage the issue and reach a balance for your family? I'd love to hear about it! https://thelight.com.au/daily-message/the-tech-experiment/
15.01.2022 As we look towards next week, now is the perfect time to start creating some healthy back to school routines. If you are anything like us, bedtimes have crept later and later and so have waking up times (for some). Routines are a great way to cut down the disagreements and debates about certain activities, as it doesn't take too long for kids to understand that 'this is just what we do'. What routines do you have that make a difference for your family? https://selfsufficientkids.com/kids-routines-encourage-ind/
09.01.2022 We live in tumultuous times, but here is one silver lining. How can you see God's truth and light shining through for your family today?
08.01.2022 I don't know about you, but sometimes its really difficult to anchor myself in the present. There's always so much to plan for and so many things to reflect on from the past, that often I can miss out on what's going on right now. I've been reading a book called 'The Choice' by Dr. Edith Eger, and it is so challenging. She is a 93 year old survivor of Auschwitz and, after surviving the absolute horrors of the Second World War, ended up becoming a psychologist in order to help others deal with their pain. Over the next few weeks, we're going to be looking at some of her incredibly insightful quotes. (And if you are looking for something brilliant to read, check out The Choice here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30753738-the-choice)
