24.01.2022 In light of today's announcement by the federal government, The Pelican Playhouse will be unable to operate while the ban on indoor gatherings of more than 100 people is in place. We are considering how this affects our planned 2020 season and will keep our supporters up to date as soon as decisions are made. As a community theatre company, we are disappointed but we are the fortunate ones. Please keep in mind those artists (and other professionals) who are being impacted by mass closures at this time. They live precariously at the best of times and this will have a major impact on the Arts and small business sector. So please, support art wherever you can at this time, stay healthy, look after each other ... and wash your hands like Lady Macbeth at a how-to-remove-stains convention. From all of The Pelican Playhouse committee.

20.01.2022 So our beautiful new awning is finally completed! Thanks to Lance Stapleton and Andrew Ellarby for the beautiful hand painted sign writing! The old girl looks m...agical! We still are unable to commence with productions at this point but hope that things are better in 2021! Watch this space. The Criterion Committee

02.01.2022 Hello everyone. To me, theatre (and live performance) is the most human of art forms. It happens in a shared space, filled with human beings, living human experiences right in front of each other. Audience and actors (and dancers, musicians) all breathing the same air. It is electrifying and beautiful. At this time, with theatres closed, here are some ways you can have a near-theatre experience from home. It's not the same, but it's something to help keep us going, and remind us that we are all human, and living through this shared story together. Take care, stay safe, help each other and keep washing those hands, Mark Conaghan, President, The Pelican Playhouse.
