25.01.2022 We have finally reached a point in the season where we have some Fuyus (hard sweet persimmons) in the farm store. Being just the first pick there won’t be many but what we have will start selling this weekend. Our crop of watermelons, tomatoes and pumpkins has also been a success so look out for those aswell!

21.01.2022 The chicks are pretty happy right now...

21.01.2022 My father and our valued employee Sonia have been working hard to keep this year’s crop secure

21.01.2022 Dear customers, This weekend we are excited to begin the season with the first pick of Nightingales, (soft ones). We will be open for shed sales from 9 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday. However, we will be initiating recommended measures to avoid the spread of COVID19, (Coronavirus). Things to consider: We will be recommending orders be placed whenever possible and collected through our drive through provisions. Orders may be placed by calling 0422732594 or 0411668328.... We recommend only one person collects the order. If visiting the shed we recommend elderly family members consider not attending. We would ask that fruit not be handled in any way. We are happy to demonstrate our packing methods and to assist with requests. We would request that hand sanitiser be used or the hand washing facilities provided be used. Please practice social distancing whenever entering the premises. 4 sq/m is the recommended individual spacing. Consider wearing a mask. If you are showing signs of illness please put off your visit. Sadly, no handshakes for now. See more

20.01.2022 We have been overwhelmed by the number of visitors to our farmgate store and continue to see our daily pick sold out daily. Thank you! Sadly our Nightingales (Hichiya soft variety) have now finished for this season. However, our friends in southwestern Sydney at the beautiful Kathleen Haven Orchard have just begun their harvest. Check their website for details www.kathleenhaven.com.au In the mean time we have Fuyus (hard sweet ones) in limited supply and the original Yemen (soft one) at the farmgate store.

19.01.2022 We are open today from 9 to 5 for counter sales and pre-order pick-ups. The Nightingales (soft ones) are still mid season and at their best. Just look for the green truck at 377 Galston Rd Galston.

18.01.2022 Wishing all our customers a healthy Easter break during this difficult time! We will be here to serve you every day between 9 and 5 just in case you need a Persimmon top up.

17.01.2022 Sadly our season has come to an end. We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for your support throughout these unusual trading conditions. We still have a few trays left of the Yemen (small soft variety) and we will continue to sell pumpkins and watermelons for the time being. Shop hours will be greatly reduced so check before coming.

14.01.2022 Harvest time...

12.01.2022 It was great to hand over a whole bin of our surplus butternut pumpkins to Oz Harvest....helping to feed Sydney’s homeless..

09.01.2022 We are managing to avoid the effects of hail, sunburn and pests so far. Another 6 weeks and we should have lots of fruit...

08.01.2022 Thank you so much to all off our customers for helping make our new arrangements a success in this difficult times. The drive through went smoothly and restrictions in the farm store didn’t stop anyone picking up their favourite Persimmons and other home grown goods, (including the addition of our honey stock). We look forward to continuing to serve you from 9 to 5 each day....

07.01.2022 It’s going on 62 years that Ken Waddell (my father) has been picking, packing and carting fruit from his father’s orchard in Galston. First citrus, then stone fruit and now Persimmons....he still loves it!

07.01.2022 Don’t forget when placing your orders that we also have farm fresh tomatoes, ($5 kg), butternut pumpkins, (1.50kg), regular limes, ($3 per bag of 6), and finger limes, ($3 per bag). And sometimes eggs! $7 dozen.

07.01.2022 Today the first pick of Yemen (our original soft variety) go on sale. Try one if you haven’t before...

04.01.2022 We are very excited to see our own range of Fuyu paste, jam and balsamic arrive...John has really crafted a knock out recipe!

02.01.2022 It’s a great time of the year when the different varieties overlap. This weekend we will have the original soft variety, Yemen, the large soft Nightingale and the first of the Fuyus. Perfect time for a Persimmon fix!

01.01.2022 It’s great to see another historical Persimmon Orchard south of us maintaining the tradition of producing such divine fruit!
