22.01.2022 T a u r i + D y l a n EST 01.02.2020 MR + MRS WHITTLES Dylan and Tauris journey began back in 2010, through mutual friends, and officially started dating on the 7th May 2011.... Apparently, it took Tauri a long time to notice Dylan, because he used to always come into her work on a Thursday night to see her, and she doesnt remember any of those times he came in! The first time she remembers TRULY noticing Dylan, was when she laid eyes on him at a friends house party, and he was POLE DANCING to the song Like a G6...and she couldnt help but think - Jesus, I NEED THAT in my life!! Pure magic right here of Dylan + Tauri, captured by the legend and A-Team member from the day @tylerbrownphotography These two were a dream, and as some describe them a WHITTLE bit cute too... Their wedding which was all held at @credarowines in Yallingup was relaxed, chilled and spectacular. The property has a panoramic outlook over the Wildwood Valley from the cellar door which is nothing short of being incredibly breathtaking. It is this view that was behind us during the ceremony! You could almost be in the heart of Italy or France....but alas this beauty is right on our doorstep in the beloved heart of our south west region in WA. 22.01.2022 EST 20.06.2020 In the middle of all the pandemic maddness, I was soooo lucky to marry these two exceptionally kind and beautiful humans @oldbroadwaterfarm in the stunning outdoor chapel!!! The weather turned it on for Sami + Tavis and their dearest loved ones. The pure love was in the air, and not a dry eye in the chapel as they spoke their personal vows to one another, and when Sami spoke her personal vows to TAVIS two children ... It was a truly special and intimate occasion! All vendors involved and staff at Old Broadwater were in on the feels as most of us hadnt done a wedding in so long either. It was emotional to say the least! How INCRED is this gloriously happy snap capture by @emmamacaulayphotography too!!! Ohhh my heart!!! I have been missing my job....which doesnt feel like a job when you love what you do so much. The most lovely surprise - bringing back all the wonderful stardust and magical feels from their awesome sunset wedding ceremony and reception they had at their home. Complete with freshly shucked oysters by @doctorzinc , photography by the talented @jillianmchughweddings @jillianmchughphoto , banging beats and good vibes by @djfadj , delicious food catered and cooked on site by @samphirecateringpe...rth @chef_hitchings_stephen_perth and a backyard filled with around 100 guests and a view overlooking the city! It was incredible Im continually blown away at the amazing and genuine couples I get to meet and then marry. 21.01.2022 I really loved this quote from the new film Made In Italy starring Liam Neeson and his son Micheal Richardson. I have a date with myself next week to go and see this film in Gold Class. Its all about treating yourself sometimes and I love going to the movies solo...especially GC on Tuesdays - only $30! Everyone lets everyone down at some point...how you come back from that...thats romance... I truly believe the words in this quote... they are true. Most of us have screwed up or let people down at some point in our lives - whether it be romantically, family, our kids, pets, friendships, work or even ourselves!! Its human nature. 14.01.2022 Another gorgeous flashback of my beautiful friend @emmalrwatts + her handsome man @jack_watts_ on their wedding day last year in March. I am so missing marrying couples, and meeting up in person with new couples at the moment. Well, Ive been missing it for awhile now... Meeting new couples in person for the first time and feeling that instant connection with them, hearing their stories of how they met, their proposals, their excitement that they are on this special journey ...together, their plans for their wedding day, and that perhaps I might be the lucky one who gets to marry them...and then the feeling when a couple calls me, or emails me, or tells me right there on the spot at our first meeting We want you to be our Celebrant - I swear I get teary every time and do a little cray cray happy dance I crave and miss the creative process behind the scenes and writing my couples unique ceremonies too...each of them with their own flair and special spark, reflecting what each couple wants. Then theres the pure joy, happiness, love, the nerves and excitement and so much more that we all experience together on a wedding day - are a whole bunch of the most amazing feelings (and moments) that you wish you could bottle up and keep forever. And you do really - they are always there (bottled up in a magical way) to feel in mind, body and soul! I can literally feel them now as a type away writing about them!! 11.01.2022 B o u t o n n i e r e Just a little DID YOU KNOW? for you all on your Thursday this week. Florists make the most divine | cool | unique | creative | stylish boutonnieres these days for weddings (and all kinds of events!) and are also themed in aptly with the bridal party bouquets and colour palettes.... On many occasion as the celebrant Ive been asked to help out by the groom and/or groomsmen when they ask Do you know how to put these things on? I dont know what they are called ha ha!.....and there comes the art of placing the boutonnieres on the lapels of the jackets! And it is an art I tell you!! Getting the pins to sit tightly and perfectly can be tricky. Quite often mother of the groom or the Florist will be helping with this also. I also get a laugh out of the boys whilst we are waiting for the bride and bridesmaids when I say Oh how cool is that Pussy Tail youre wearing?? (Side note: Florists refer to them as Bunny Tails) Response always being hysterical laughter or a giggle saying No way! Ha ha ha thats not what they are called are they!? Yep! They sure are!! You are wearing pussy tails! Fellas not sure where your mind is going! Swipe to see the Pussy Tails otherwise known as Bunny Tails (some dyed red!) You find Pussy Tails everywhere around here in Perth. All jokes aside, they are cute as plants and grow wild all over Western Australia. You pick them, and place them in a bunch in a jar with no water and they last pretty much forever dried, and look great in the home! We used to pick them as kids in the bush across the road and near the beach and tickle each other with them ha ha!! And hey!! 08.01.2022 C e r e m o n y M o m e n t s Firstly - love this capture by the legend @tylerbrownphotography I always ask my couples where they would like me to stand during the vows. In this case both @tauri_whittles + @dylanwhittles said we want you to stay here with us!! ... They also chose to write their own personal vows (a surprise on the day), so again I always ask how they would feel most comfortable - for example: - Are you comfortable with holding the mic and your vows? - Would you like me to hold the mic for you, and you can hold your vows? - You don’t both have to do the same thing either, you both need to feel comfortable on the day. Their choices were: Dylan - held the vows and I held the mic Tauri - I held both the mic and the vows This was their choice and was absolutely perfect! They both felt comfortable reading their personal vows to each other and infront of their large crowd of beloved family + friends. No matter what a couples choice is during the vows, I then seamlessly stand to the side for the remainder of the duration of the ceremony so that there are ample of shots with just the couple and not my mug there! The reason I’m writing this, and my reason behind asking couples what they want to do, is that not everyone is comfortable with holding a mic and their vows at the same time, or either! Everyone has different nerves on the day. Some couples are confident with holding the mic and their vows, and reading them. Everyone is different. Whatever YOU choose to do, is completely fine. Likewise with positioning for the whole ceremony....some couples prefer me stand in the middle of them and others are happy for me to stand to the side to tell their story | for the duration of the ceremony. I go through all of these things at my meetings and at rehearsal. Again - it’s all about doing YOU! It’s YOUR wedding, YOUR way! 03.01.2022 EST 05.10.2019 Me...Post ceremony for @_brow.co + Aaron last year at my beloved @quarryamphitheatre The Quarry Amphitheatre was like my second home for many years as I spent so much time there doing ballet classes and performances, musicals, cabarets and also working front of house and being an usherette in my spare time. It truly is a magical and magnificent venue for so many reasons.... My ballet teachers husband was the architect for the venue and together they were the ones who were behind it being built. Hard to believe I danced in the very first show ever held there after it was built all those years ago in 1980s! Anyway...Sarah+ Aaron had a fabulous wedding ceremony and reception here last October. Sarah has exceptional style and knew exactly how she wanted everything to look! With the help of her chosen vendors, the now Mr + Mrs Cummings certainly had their dream wedding! Always an honour to marry every one of my couples, and especially special for me to now be marrying couples at a place so sacred to me too. Big love to you all!! 02.01.2022 Let’s hear it for the boys!! EST 18.10.2019 Top knotch formal looking GROOM @stephenhill32 and his GROOMSMEN. Whist the Bride + Groom are the most important people at a wedding... if you are choosing to have groomsmen - it’s important to choose the right people to be by your side.... Your rock solid crew! Half the fun is being able to celebrate and anticipate your big day with your closest mates by your side - whether they be family/friends. They are the ones who always have your back, your closest friends - the brotherhood! The ones who will both have a laugh and calm the nerves with you, during the lead up to the wedding and on the day. (From memory these lads played golf before rehearsal and then after they went with the girls to @cottesloebeachhotel ) They are the ones who don’t mind passing the brides bouquet over to be placed on the signing table - thanks @bradleyhill10 These groomsmen did all of this and more!
