23.01.2022 Despite the restrictions I would love to organise something for ovarian cancer awareness month... time to start thinking and planning!!

23.01.2022 After over a month of learning including a full on week of practical I am proud to say I am now a fully qualified lymphoedema therapist! Working with oncology patients has meant I am unable to assist them if they have lymphoedema, but now I have a whole new set of skills that I can utilise to maximise their recovery from cancer! So excited for what is to come next!! Casley-Smith International Australasia has provided an absolutely amazing course, with such supportive and kn...owledgeable teachers! I am so grateful for their encouragement, patience and sharing their passion with me! I will be forever grateful and cannot wait to continue to work together to better the treatments available for people with lymphoedema! See you at the clinic, Hope.

21.01.2022 Many of my patients unfortunately are dealing with peripheral neuropathy as a result of their chemotherapy so it’s great to be able to reassure them that there is something they can do to assist with the symptoms, and even better to prevent it in the first place!

18.01.2022 Today I have spent most of the day having some Halloween fun with my kids, but it has not escaped my attention that it is also the last day of October and therefore Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During Pink October I have met 16 amazing breast cancer warriors through my clinic and every single one of them inspire and motivate me more than they could ever know. I often tell them how strong they are and most of the time they don't agree or cannot see it themselves. I am honoured to be able to help them in their fight and recovery from breast cancer! Remember to regularly check your breasts and check in with anyone you know who has or has had breast cancer!

18.01.2022 Excited to say that I am now listed on the Australasian Lymphology Association national register as an accredited lymphoedema therapist! I have already had the pleasure of helping 3 people with their lymphoedema and look forward to helping many more!! If you need assistance with your lymphoedema please reach out either via calling 0431 818 370 or emailing [email protected]

15.01.2022 Some very good tips about how to cope with scanxiety

13.01.2022 Each year I make a donation to the McGrath Foundation for the Pink Test. I have had the pleasure of working alongside some wonderful breast cancer nurses through the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre as they support their patients. I know how much of a difference they can make and would love to have more of them available to assist women after a breast cancer diagnosis. Make sure if you can spare a few dollars to make a donation, every little bit counts!!

11.01.2022 Now this is a fundraiser I can definitely get behind! What a great idea!! Anyone keen to join me!!??

11.01.2022 Spent the day wrapping each other and ourselves! It’s been so fun learning a new skill! #lymphaticdrainage #lymphoedema #cancerrehab #lymphoedemaawareness @just.breathe.massage.therapy

10.01.2022 There are five stages of breast cancer, ranging from 0 - IV, with Stage 0 representing the earliest stage of breast cancer and Stage IV the most serious - where... the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. The stage of breast cancer you have, along with other information including your type of breast cancer and your particular needs will be used to help determine your treatment options. These may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, targetted therapies, immunotherapy and hormone therapy. For more information about treatments for breast cancer and clinical trials specific to breast cancer research, please visit our website here http://ow.ly/atok50BX5yM See more

08.01.2022 Touched by cancer? Consider enrolling in an international research project investigating the use of mindfulness practices by way of a newly created app: Kaleido...scope View by Julie Bach. I am so excited to offer this new research project to my breast cancer clients and others touched by cancer. The project offers free access (2 months) to an app that guides the user in meditation, yoga and more self-care tasks, and will investigate the differences and benefits in online wellness coaching or no online coaching. Connect with Julie Bach directly (email in image below) if you are interested in participating or a health professional who would like to share this project with your clients who have had a cancer diagnosis.. Start date is now and extending into the new year. Potentially a win win win for 2021. See more

07.01.2022 You do not need to suffer in silence. Resilience" is not silence in the face of adversity, it's not stoicism. Resilience is about resources and interconn...ectedness and not struggling alone in isolation. Staying silent prevents many people affected by cancer from getting help for very common and often treatable side effects, putting them at risk of deteriorating physical and mental health. When it comes to cancer treatment side effects and recovery, there is NO issue that should be taboo. Be empowered to speak with your doctors, Cancer Rehab Physios & OTs about any issues you’re facing. Pinc&Steel’s Cancer Rehab team help people overcome symptoms and side effects of their cancer treatment every day - so reach out if you need help. www.pincandsteel.com #pincandsteel #cancerrehab

03.01.2022 Masks are so awkward for many reasons but this is definitely one of the things that’s hard to remember

02.01.2022 There are many side effects from cancer treatment that can linger for a long time and impact on quality of life. Many of these side effects may not be visible... to others and yet cause considerable affect on a persons ability to live fully and actively. It saddens me that there are still so many people putting up with long-term consequences of their cancer treatment that could be helped with #cancerrehab for their specific needs. The Covid pandemic has made this situation worse as getting to face to face appointments has been hugely impacted. However, if you have been ignoring symptoms it is NOT TOO LATE to get support and relief. Book an appointment (either face to face or online) with a Pinc&Steel Cancer Rehab Therapist and don’t suffer in silence. https://www.pincandsteel.com/ #moveovercancer #livingwithandbeyondcancer #dontsufferinsilence #oncologyrehab #globalpt
