21.01.2022 If you didn’t already hear- 11.11 is singles day in China, akin to every one of our own commercialised special occasions- where we buy stuff because it’s on ‘special’, they spent $74 BILLION in one day. Australians spend around $18billion for Christmas (so don’t judge others). Imagine if our disposable income was not spent on disposable crap and landfill? Instead we bought consciously, less, better and local? Imagine better. 07.01.2022 Thankyou 2020, the year we opened our shop, the year we had the opportunity to be quiet, still and present ( and worried, uncertain and anxious). We Thank ‘God’ - our Truth, and grace, for allowing us to get in a trip to Jaipur, to be with our friends there. We thank all of you and our local community of makers and contributors- we have meditated together, made stuff together, created together and challenged one another into courageous communication. Mostly- above all else- ...we met in ‘common ground’ and spread loving kindness towards each other. We loved 2020, we truly did, and while we comprehend deeply that not everybody on our planet has the luxury of ‘ease’, we will continue to devote our work to the alleviation of dis-ease - through the power of love. While we are deeply deeply grateful to be Australian, we find it difficult to celebrate today’s date. If a country can commandeer billions of resources in 18 months to address Covid, it can and must do better to heal its relationship with the people who can speak directly to the Spirits of our land.
