25.01.2022 In hardware startups, it’s incredible how the most unlikely of things gives inspiration for product development #hardware #startups

24.01.2022 Hello guys! We are The Powersphere, an Australia based start-up company. We are currently working towards the commercialisation of the world’s first omnidirectional wind turbine for electricity generation. I guess this is our first offical post about The Powersphere; but of course, this will be a very exciting journey, so if you’d like to learn more or join us, feel free to contact us at: [email protected] (We’re open to any feedback and we’re ready to answer all you...r questions!) Or follow us at @thepowersphere on Facebook and Instagram to see recent updates on The Powersphere and some occasional sustainability-related updates. Stay tuned for the upcoming reveal of our physical device! #ThePowersphere #windturbine #engineering #sustainabilty #turbine #technology #innovation #energy

20.01.2022 To give a background on the inspirations behind The Powersphere, here’s a brief summary on utilising wind energy. Wind is a form of renewable energy that is conventionally harnessed using wind turbines. The major benefits of wind energy is that the electricity generated from wind comes with no environmental pollution. Wind energy has a huge potential (estimated to generate approximately 500,000 TWh/year globally) but its potential hasn’t been explored as much as it should. ...Through our research, we found there’s a great potential for wind energy throughout the world and its use is gradually increasing. To take advantage of wind energy, The Powersphere comes into play. As a modular and portable device that can be installed in every household (including: balconies, side of walls, and roofs), or brought to camping, or incorporated into modern architectures as aesthetic and functional instillations. It will be a great electricity generator in complementary to grid energy and/or solar panels. So, what’s special about The Powersphere? We have designed an omnidirectional turbine that can harness wind from every direction to cause the turbine to spin on one direction. This is very different from current single-axis wind turbines put into use. An omni-directional turbine will drastically increase the efficiency and energy output compared to conventional wind turbines. This idea has won the 2018 SISCA sustainability challenge in the Early-stage category, and the 2018 iLab Germinate Program. The Powersphere is currently being developed by our team at the iLab in the University of Queensland. This is the first omni-directional wind turbine to our knowledge, and it is currently becoming patented. 17.01.2022 Here's a background story of Powersphere, we began as a team of humanitarian engineers who wanted to revolutionise the way we use wind energy and make sure everyone has access to affordable and clean renewable energy. #renewableenergy #windpower #powersphere Read more about Powersphere here >> https://www.powersphere.com.au//powersphere-empowering-cha

14.01.2022 3D printing the Powersphere. Soon to be testing

14.01.2022 There is enough power in Earth’s winds to meet all the world’s power demands. Australia is the leading country in the world in terms of wind power efficiency, while our potential is largely untapped. #renewableenergy #windpower Read more about Australia’s potential for wind energy here: https://www.powersphere.com.au//wind-energy-the-great-pote
