18.01.2022 Warning to the Rich Inserting himself into a long line of Old Testament prophetic tradition, James proclaims the dreadful fate of the rich aristocratic tyrants who were oppressing God’s people. As we listen to James’ denouncement, we discover that the same obsession with wealth & possessions can manifest in our lives and that money can be a significant hurdle on our journey following Jesus no one can serve two masters. Being confronted with the futility of the pursuit of wealth, we’re reminded of our call to steward our money wisely, knowing that we’re living on the brink of eternal life in the new heavens & the new earth.

10.01.2022 Due to the changes in COVID Safe planning, we are now permitted to have 280 people in the church auditorium and no longer need to use Thommy’s Café as an overflow area. You do not need to pre-register for church each Sunday, instead, you will be asked to sign in on arrival using a QR code scanner on your smartphone. If you don’t have a smartphone, we can take your details manually. We’re looking forward to implementing this new system and we’re excited that more people will be able to join us for church each Sunday!

10.01.2022 You Must Be Born Again In John chapter 3 we encounter a Pharisee named Nicodemus. Nicodemus perceives that because of his prestige and his piety, his entry into the Kingdom of God will be certain. But on the night he enquired of Jesus, his worldview was flipped upside down. Jesus tells him that to receive the Kingdom he needs a radical heart change that can only come about by the work of Spirit. Here we learn that entrance into the Kingdom of God is not something we earn through good works, but by believing in the finished work of the Son of Man who was lifted up on the cross for our sins.
