Everyone is Melbourne is feeling the restrictions and I never thought in my lifetime I would have an actual curfew! It cliche but you HAVE to choose what you focus on. ... 25.01.2022 Training makes me happy. I find that if I am not hitting a frequency of at least three sessions per week, my head is all over the place. I hear ALL the time is how do you always get motivated to train and stay consistent. The truth is I am not always motivated, and I know on those days when I am feeling like slacking off this is what I do. Warm-up slowly and as the feeling of tightness and discomfort leaves your body, you will start feeling good in the movements.... Have a program to follow and go into 'robot mode' working through it and ticking off your sets; don't overthink it. Set a timer on your watch in between sets so that you keep moving through the sets If you find you are not likely to work off a program on your own, this is more common than you think. I would then opt to work one on one with a Coach or join in on a class. I hope this helps you to nail your training consistency this year.

When we spend our life chasing the Big Bang exciting goals we crave a chase and buzz which can only be satisfied sporadically. While these things are great, and everyone loves the rush it can leave you feeling flat and just looking for the next hit. This isnt all of what life is about. Especially now with all of us in this ground-hog-day loop it is more important than ever. ... 20.01.2022 33kg down and going strong! Blythe shares her story around how she would fall into the negative mindset trap of being all or nothing. This ultimately lead her to yo-yo with her weight for years! Before starting with us, She felt there wasnt a way out, that things were too far gone. Often, if you have been found with hypothyroidism, the typical response is to give you thyroid hormone and to stay on this the rest of your life. The problem is, this doesnt really address the root cause and how this started in the first place. 16.01.2022 A conversation which is coming up A LOT at the moment. Well hey, we are all locked in our homes right with a unique set of stressors we didnt sign up for. Often when it comes to binging or making poor food choices it has nothing to do with willpower and everything to do with your triggers. Triggers can include things such as; Emotions; loneliness, sadness, boredom etc.... Stress; which dysregulates your blood sugar & increases cravings Situation; When a particular habit is linked to food and or sugar Lack of Sleep; You have 60% more activity in the part of your brain called the amygdala which equates to short term satisfaction and poor decision making. Your blood sugar is also more dysregulated and your body tends to process glucose poorly. When you are also low in energy sugar cravings are higher. Once you know your triggers, a good strategy is to come up with a plan to REPLACE or DISTRACT you from the habit. Here are some other ideas what we thought would be helpful x

15.01.2022 I had to push through the procrastination majorly to get this session started. Of course once I did, the funk lifted a little more with every set I completed. I sure if you are living in Melbourne at the moment you may find yourself often feeling some sort of funk. My saving grace is connecting with my team and staying consistent with training and also education. If you have access to a barbell, there are some great exercise variations to try. 14.01.2022 To say we are proud of Blythe is selling it short! She had spent the better part of 20 years yo-yo dieting and engaging in sporadic bursts of exercise but hated. With this mindset, she found it hard to stay consistent! She was either on, or TOTALLY off the wagon. But through education, guidance, accountability and support from Head Coach Faye, she has now dropped a total of 30kg. Blythe has been doing much more than surviving lockdown, shes absolutely thriving and we are... so proud of how far she has come. 06.01.2022 Ever feel that affirmations feel fake and forced? I have Coach Joanne Reynolds to thank for her insights around this topic, and after chatting with her it really got me thinking. We are told to use affirmations to help retrain our brain but how often do you just feel you are telling yourself a pack of lies? An example of this is ... I am strong I am fit and healthy My thyroid is healthy I love life in balance I am a happy healthy person who feeds my body with healthy food Now these are all great things to tell yourself but if you dont believe you are in this place currently, your head can be quick to come back an opposite rebuttable! Maybe try; I am on a journey of increasing strength I am on a journey of being fitter and healthier I am on a journey of healing my thyroid I am on a journey of finding balance I am on a journey of finding health and improving nutrition Does anyone else feel that this type of affirmation lands better and would be more empowering?

03.01.2022 Last night we had a little bit of ISO-snow come and visit us up in the Hills. It was so magical! I had to pinch myself looking at our house covered in snow in a full moon. We thought it looked like a scene out of Kill Bill For those of you who dont know, I spent three years in my 20s travelling. I ran chalets in ski resorts in Austria, Colorado and Canada and I am obsessed with the snow. We have taken Ruby to the snow before, but this was the first time she could apprec...iate it, play in it and see the magic in it. Feeling blessed!

03.01.2022 Choose progress over perfection. A mindset trap that we often can all into is either ALL or NOTHING and if we arent doing it all what is the point? I wanted to share a recent client story which I found super inspiring. We are currently doing a 20kg in 2020 Project which is a 24-week program teaching our clients a sustainable longterm approach to their goals and fitness. Since the beginning, we had one client who had been thrown all sorts of curveballs. She is the head of a... team which are working in a COVID ward at a hospital. Long hours, a huge amount of stress and she was feeling like she wasnt doing this program the way she had planned or imagine. Through talking with her Coach, she was able to make simple changes, ones that she knew she could stick to. However, in the back of her mind the whole time still felt disappointed in herself and felt like she was failing because not everything was on point. Too scared to even jump in the scales she reluctantly at the halfway point decided to see where she was at. To her surprise she had dropped 7kg! My point is, life is always going to come in ebbs and flows and throw unexpected things, are you. If amongst the chaos you can still make small investments into you it is WAY better than going with all or nothing.

02.01.2022 Just honoured and chuffed to have teamed up with the National Women’s Fitness Academy to educate the next up and coming Coaches and Personal Training industry professionals. This course is top-notch and an amazing way to induct new Coaches into a Cert 3/4 certification which also delves into female-specific training, hormones and lifestyle. The real stars of today were Head Coach Faye Magpayo and Coach @Brooke Alvar who facilitated the first Melbourne course today. These tw...o dedicate hours in being the best possible Coaches and today they passed on their exceptional knowledge and totally nailed it. Thank you to all of the students who joined us today. This was an amazing room for of dedicated Coaches learning their craft. This is an amazing industry to be a part of and we can't wait to see where your career takes you.

01.01.2022 Whoa, 8 years since I won this figure comp. Time flies but SO much has happened since then. This photo always makes me giggle because one of the judges was kind enough to let me know that in fact my (pancaked) chest was no longer holding my bikini top in place and to tuck myself away This would have made for quite the winning photo. I always look back on this figure comp prep fondly. It was definitely a pivotal moment for me in my career. It made me realise that while it ...is great to strive to win a competition this isnt real life. I had to get all the way to 8% body fat to realise it doesnt make an ounce of difference to your happiness. It is also not a life when you are training 6 days a week and then twice a day towards the end of the comp to look this way. I am proud of our message and how we support real women to get real results without any crazy extremes.
