24.01.2022 Shoulda been a blog post but put it here instead.... I did aerobics from 1984 to 1988. Sometimes twice a week, sometimes 4. Then in 1986, I raised $300 for the ...Heart Foundation by taking part in a marathon aerobics dance-off! I still fit into and proudly wear, the pale pink rugby guernsey I won for all my hefty fundraising efforts. Not that it was the profitable kind of fundraising. Hefty, yes. Profitable, no. I didn’t want to pester people about actually giving me the cash so instead, I footed the whole thing MYSELF! I know, right! I’ve been trying to kick this people-pleasing problem for 30+ years! Anyway, I lasted the entire, agonisingly, sweat-soaked day with a bunch of other pretend women-girls where every single one of us looked like a less sexy version of Olivia Newton-John wrapped from knee to Reeboks in knitted pastel pink and grey striped leg warmers. We danced and danced and danced to the anthems that were my 80sVenus (Bananarama), Dancing on the Ceiling (Lionel Richie), Kiss (back when Prince was Prince & the Revolution) with the occasionally slip back into the 70s with Cocaine (the JJ Cale kind). In 1986 everything and everyone seemed more rebellious, faster, dancier, smokier, dangerous even. We drank a lot, smoked smokes and weed a lot and ‘aerobic-ed’ like pros. I was 21. Sidenote: I just remembered that around that time I acquired a life-sized bust of Bob Hawke’s head that was actually a wine holder with a sign across the bottom that read ‘TAKE THE PISS OUT OF BOB’. (for any non-Aussies, Bob Hawke was our fun lovin’, beer swillin’ Prime Minister of the day). So, what the hell does any of this have to do with menopause? Probably nothing except that I no longer weigh 48kgs. I remember that heady day somewhere in the late 90s when I hit 52kgs. I was horrified and elated at the same time as I’d always been skinny. These days I’d give my soul (probably just lunch) or my firstborn to be 58kg (48kg is too low for me these days; there’s the extra sagging and wrinkles to think about). Actually thinking about that for a red-hot minute, I’d definitely give you my firstborn - he’s 36, bearded, hairy-chested and 6-foot tall. He’s apparently good-looking and could definitely handle it if I gave him to someone). There’s only one restriction: you CANNOT return him. So if you’re like most women in menopause you’ve probably wondered what it would be like to lose weight without feeling hungry? Well, it turns out that there is a little known technique that helps you get back to your weight goal without being stuck on the yo-yo diet ...and without starving yourself or feeling compelled to enter the equivalent of the Aerobics Olympics for the 50+ set (I’d probably do it though). These days it’s probably more like some form of ruthlessly lava-hot, Hot Yoga or a silent disco where everyone’s dancing up a storm thinking they look ‘the bomb’ or are about to become the next winner of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. Just like aerobics, when done right, you'll find that it (the technique ) also increases your mood and your energy levels (and possibly, your fashion sense). It also dramatically increases your metabolism and can fix those pesky hormonal imbalances. You’ll love it apparently, and you’re welcome. I have to admit, that does sound appealing. Dr Michelle shares her top-secret, TELL NO-ONE technique (and HOW to make the most it) in video number 1 of her brand-spanking-new Menopause Workshop. The good news is this training is totally FREE unlike marathon aerobics fundraisers (the equivalent of $300 is probably now like $17,982). ...and you can get instant access, right here right now. In the video, Dr Michelle breaks it all down for you (she knows none of us can concentrate for long). All that and much more except she never mentions aerobics once (or maybe she does, you’ll have to watch and let me know) ONWARD! Sharon xo P.S. You can also try Michelle’s 5 Day Snack Plan so you can feel fuller for longer. But only if you want to lose weight otherwise, join me and go straight for the chocolate ice cream and then you will NOT lose weight and will be cranky with yourself again tomorrow. Just sayin’. It's incredibly easy whether you eat at home, in the car (no, you cannot drive at the same time), riding the bus, sitting at Sydney airport (like me) or at work it's 100% free right here. https://learn.menopausemovement.com/sharon-meno-workshop-re

22.01.2022 Truth bomb for today....

16.01.2022 The Rise of the Feminine!!

07.01.2022 =============== Attention Qld friends =============== On Sunday 27 October 2019 I’m getting together with my friend Mary and hosting another workshop: Beyond Ad...diction. We’ll meet in beautiful Burleigh Heads for a day. We'll be talking about addiction, it's impact and healing for individuals and families. Did you know that for every person who experiences severe harm because of addiction, six or more other people are negatively affected? That means when one person has a problem... many other people suffer too. As people who live with, work with or know someone suffering from addiction, we need support. We also need information and understanding to keep going and to find our own lives again. The day is designed to help you uncover and discover what’s going on for you and the person in your life that you’re concerned about Who should attend: ============== Anyone who has (or had) a loved one or friend with an addiction Anyone in Recovery themselves and they want to know more or understand others Some of the topics we'll be covering include: What is addiction How to spot it and understand tough stuff like shame, secrets, isolation, anxiety, depression, embarrassment The role of denial How to transform your own life There’s limited seating so contact me to makes sure your spot is reserved. We’d love it if shared this with friends, family and mental health and/or AOD therapists who might be interested. Thank you, Sharon http://bit.ly/BurleighWorkshop
