24.01.2022 D O N’ T F A L L O F F the radar! Ok I feel a little hypocritical even saying this given the last time I posted, but hopefully I’m forgiven. Isn’t it amazing that our natural instinct when we experience a downturn in business, is to stop all spending? I’m particularly referring to marketing spend and if you think it’s just you, it’s not.... The thing is, we should in fact do the exact opposite and here’s why...if your customers suddenly stop seeing your brand in the market, it’s very easy for them to assume, you’re no longer around. True story! So, the best thing to do in times of downturn or crisis is to implement a retention or maintenance strategy. That’s right, maintain and even ramp up your marketing, don’t dial it down. Now is not the time to fall off the radar and out of the minds of your consumers. I understand it’s a strain on the hip pocket, but it won’t be forever and when the market returns to normal, and it will, you’ll have your biggest cheer squad still there cheering you on...YOUR CUSTOMERS! Ever heard of the saying ‘Out of sight, out of mind’? Keep going! You’ve got this . . . . . #MaintainMarketing #DownturnsTurnAroundToo #YouveGotThis #TSP #SocialMediaManagement #DigitalMarketing #SorryForDisappearing #StayOnTheRadar

18.01.2022 L E T your clients shoes! Red shoes or blue shoes...What’s your point of difference? What do you do that your competitors don’t? Differentiate yourself from your competition. Whether you’re selling a product or service, communicate effectively and set yourself apart from the rest. Same same, but different!... The point is, if you sell shoes, you need to have something to convince consumers to come to you vs your competitors. Maybe your shoes are handmade; maybe you only sell leather shoes and so on...sounds simple, but people need to know so they can make a decision. So...Spell. It. Out. A differentiation strategy is super important and it should meet the needs and wants of your customers. So tell me...what’s your point of difference? . . . . . #SameSameButDifferent #DifferentiationStrategy #Individual #TSP #TheSocialParlour #ChooseUs #SocialMediaManagement #ContentCreation #DigitalMarketing

05.01.2022 Let’s talk Complaints and Negative Reviews I cannot count the number of times I see businesses ignore negative reviews & complaints on their socials, or alternatively react emotionally and engage in online debates, because they’ve been offended by someone berating their product or service. Remember this, it’s not about ego, it’s about business and it’s about service Epic mistake for a couple of reasons (and perhaps more)... 1. If a person has tried your product or service, they must’ve been interested in it for a reason and by ignoring them, you’re demonstrating you don’t want or need their patronage, nor do you value their feedback. 2. It’s actually not uncommon to turn a detractor into a promoter with a bit of TLC, and letting them know you’ve listened, you’re taking it on board and you’re trying to rectify the problem. 3. By arguing online, you’re compromising your own integrity and professionalism. Its simple; just don’t do it. If we didn’t have people providing reviews, good or bad, how do we improve our product or service?! By simply ignoring them, you’re essentially saying you don’t care By arguing with them, you’re demonstrating that you cannot be professional, you’re unable to respond rationally or take on board negative feedback. It’s not you personally, you’re representing your brand and how you respond is paramount. Service recovery is absolutely vital to getting people back on your side and shaking your sandwich board! In fact, the recovery part is, at times, more important than the delivery. Fact! In every instance, and I cannot stress this enough...Get. Back. To. Your. Customers! Even if you’re managing a complaint; I mean especially if you’re managing a complaint, it is so important to acknowledge them, address it and move on. This can be done offline, it doesn’t need to be published! Never forget the golden rule...’People talk’. The trick is to know how to respond to reviews and feedback in an unbiased and neutral, respectful way. Get that part right and you’re well on your way to prosperity and ultimately, referrals! #BusinessGoals Unsure? Confused? The Social Parlour can help. Give us a call

03.01.2022 C O M P E T I T I V E Advantage....With the week that this one’s been, this really resonates with me. Hey, I totally understand the excitement that comes with a sudden burst of creativity, believe me I do, but sometimes staying ‘mum’ on things is the best thing you can do for the good of your brand and your business. When you think about competitive advantage, ask yourself this...do you really want your competitors to know EVERYTHING you’re doing?! No? Then shhh...at least in... the short-term. Want to be a brand of choice? Don’t fall off the radar so people forget who you are, but simply, be aware of what you should keep to yourself until you reveal your innovation, product, service, whatever... Believe me when I say, success speaks volumes. Make noise, but make the right noise at the right time Happy long weekend! . . . . . #HustleInSilence #SuccessSpeaksVolumes #KeepALidOnIt #TSP #SocialMediaManagement #DigitalMarketing #Strategy #ContentCreation #CompetitiveAdvantage

02.01.2022 In times of uncertainty, as much as is humanly possible, let’s band together and support small business. Drop into your local coffee shop for your latté, pick up your fruit and veg from your fruiterer or your meat from the butcher. Naturally stay at a safe distance Or better still, order from them online if you can! At the Social Parlour, we’re fortunate in that our job is to serve our clients predominantly online, though I do love a good catch up over a coffee ... Some businesses don’t have this luxury, so please support the mammas and the papas and prop up their business any way you can, during these tough and unprecedented times. Stay safe. The tide will turn, but until then, do your part to help this situation resolve. Big love TSP . . . . . #SupportSmallBusiness #BandTogether #WeveGotThis #StayPositive #SupportLocal #InTheFaceOfAdversity #SupportTheDream #TheSocialParlour #DigitalMarketing #SocialMediaManagement
