25.01.2022 Year 12 student, Chandler Campbell, has been in the recording studio over the past six months, recording some original work, and just this week he has uploaded two of his own songs to Triple J Unearthed. They are exceptionally well done and are worth a listen, particularly the song titled The One Who Goes, which features a chorus of Year 12 boys. 24.01.2022 Congratulations to TSS Football who won the 2020 GPS Premiership on Saturday. It’s been six years since TSS last won the Premiership (shared with Nudgee in 2014 and 2013, outright in 2012) and to secure the title with one round to go is a credit to Coach/Director Mr Joe Dolan and his talented squad of players. It was certainly an exciting game on Saturday where TSS played some awesome football to lead 4-1 early, only to see Gregory Terrace fight back to 4-3. In the end TSS w...on 5-3 and can’t be caught with one game to go. Our TSS gymnasts also competed in their GPS Championships where they secured second place overall. Mr Brett Newton, our new Director of Gymnastics, worked hard to develop a young team of gymnasts who improved from 2019 with a number of outstanding individual performances. Well done to all our competitors! -Mr Bryan Hain Director of Sport

24.01.2022 Our little guys in Years R-2 enjoyed their athletics carnival today. There was plenty of House spirit between the boys, as they competed in a number of fun events like the traditional egg & spoon race, high jump, bean bag toss and sprinting, just to name a few. Well done! #thesouthportschool #theboysareback #tssprep

22.01.2022 At a special Chapel service today, we celebrated three important traditions. The Induction of two new Senior Prefects to the fold, the blessing of the Statue of St Alban and we unveiled and blessed new Senior School House banners that hang from the Chapel ceiling. House banners have draped the walls of St Albans for the past 40 years in some cases, and these recommissioned hangings reflect the unique House pride we have at TSS.

21.01.2022 The Gold Coast Bulletin published an article in today's paper written by journalist Kirstin Payne on our incoming 2021 Headmaster Mr Andrew Hawkins. 17.01.2022 We all understand the importance of mindfulness which helps relieve stress and anxiety by being present and fully engaged. The foods associated with mindfulness are calming and are designed to promote brain health, boost memory and concentration, and support nervous system function. These foods are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D for cognition and mood. A great option during busy study periods such as exam block, or to reduce stress levels and boost mood #thesouthportschool #menshealthweek #wellbeinghealth https://youtu.be/Gk3cBl7SOyg

13.01.2022 R U OK? Day is our annual reminder to look out for the signs that someone may not be okay, and to start a potentially life-saving conversation. This year we highlighted the importance of communicating our emotions, actively listening to others and checking in with ‘Who’s on your Team’, an initiative designed to prompt students to list trusted adults and close mates that they could approach during a difficult time. We also take this time to remind students to prioritise self...-care by reflecting on our Wellbeing Health pillars of MENS REMAP: - M: Get outdoors and take three deep breaths - E: Move your body - N: Nourish your body with fresh, wholefoods - S: Prioritise sleep - R: Regularly connect with close mates - E: Do something you love every day - M: Focus on your unique strengths and use them - A: Think about your proudest achievement - P: Tell someone that you appreciate them Please also note the free external support services: Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800 Lifeline on 13 11 14 or ‘000’ if life is in imminent danger. Boys cannot stay and watch the First teams play. Parents to sign in with a smart phone ‘QR Code’ and log out when they leave. Boys will still travel away on our buses wearing the TSS training shirt, blue hoodie or Navy BLK type jacket. Boys can go home with parents after the match. No after match functions. There will be limited parking on site at TSS. See more

02.01.2022 THE BOYS ARE BACK It’s great to see our students back on campus today. Deputy Headmaster - Head of Senior School, Mr Andrew Hawkins, accurately sums up the experience of Term Two, and the affect it had on our community. One observation as a school leader that struck me was how student and teacher wellbeing are inextricably connected... without boys at TSS the School was not the same and the teachers and corporate staff missed their daily connections with students... it’s a...lso clear students missed their social connections with staff and peers, along with the school routine and structure. While we are getting back to a sense of normality this term, to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our entire community, many restrictions remain in place. We look forward to what will be a busy and productive term #thesouthportschool #theboysareback #bandofbrothers
