14.01.2022 Club Redevelopment Program - Stage 5 The Clubs latest approved Stage 5 plans are now well underway. The Material Change of Use Application was approved by the GCCC in February 2020 and since that date the Club has been fine tuning the plans and complying with the Council conditions. This will ensure the plans are the best outcome for the Club and all additional areas provide space and amenities that are both practical and aesthetically appealing. Stage 5 includes 4 new levels... located on the northern section of the Clubhouse. A basement level will provide for storage of commercial goods and cold room facilities. At ground level the Burleigh Beach kiosk will be extended, Disability Amenities installed for our wheelchair beach access program and an extension to the boat shed for the Clubs patrol equipment. The next level will see additions to the supporters Club bar, restaurant and kitchen and the refurbishment of the restaurant amenities. To cap it all off on the top level the Club will have a 25 metre swimming pool and amenities. All levels will be accessed by stairs and a lift. This is a very exciting time for our Club as we provide for state of the art facilities for both our members and the public at large. Construction will commence in the month of August with substantial completion due early 2021. All existing facilities comprising the kiosk, restaurant and sports bar will be available during the construction period. 01.01.2022 Congratulations to Ela who on Friday night at the Surf Girl Gala Ball was announced as the 2020 Highest Fundraiser. Ela raised the amount of $180,162 which was a fantastic effort. We thank Ela for representing our Club with her fundraising efforts and in promoting Surf safety and awareness both within our Club and to the community. Also we thank Elas committee comprising Lisa Boyce, Kristina OConnell, Val & Rachael Bugeja and Bruce Mayne for their support to her and in pro...moting all the functions and events.
