25.01.2022 Facebook LIVE Q&A with elite runners / coaches: David Eadie and Nikki Wynd. 8:00pm Thursday 20th. This is the second episode of our Facebook Live Q&A series called 'Ultra Experience athlete interviews presented by CLIF'. We’ll chat to David and Nikki with the endeavour of learning from their considerable experience competing in events of all lengths across Australia and around the world. David Eadie, otherwise known as ‘The Running Man,’ is an ambassador for the Surf Coast... Century and a major coaching partner for the event, but did you know he’s run a 3:54 mile, raced for Olympic Games selection, has finished multiple Western States 100 milers and was Australian Ultra Runner of the year? Meanwhile Nikki is a former winner of the Badwater Ultra (The toughest race in the world) and multiple 24hr track national champion and all-round running guru. So tune in to this live discussion because there is no doubt that we can all learn a lot from these two! It’s a bit like a podcast but you can ASK YOUR OWN QUESTIONS in real time, see what’s happening and win some cool prizes from CLIF Bar! Tune in to the Rapid Ascent Ultra Running Events page at 8:00pm Thursday 20th August for all the stories.

There are so many different types and styles of running shoe on the market these days that it's hard to determine which is the most appropriate for the running you do ... until now. Here is an article that clearly explains the different features of a shoe and what's best for each style of running - from long distance to short, cushioning to heal drop. Prepared by La Sportiva (footwear partner for the Surf Coast Century) this article provides... some great information for all runners. https://mountainrunning.com.au/how-to-choose-a-trarunning-/

19.01.2022 Just a reminder that presentations from today's Virtual Race #2 will be held live here on Facebook at 8:30pm tonight (Sunday 12th July). See you soon!

19.01.2022 Correction! Last Sunday we announced our winners in the 'Vert' category of Virtual Race 2 for the Trail Running Series presented by MINI Countryman. Somehow we missed Justyna's cracking effort - 981m on the 15km event. WOAH! Our apologies Justyna and congratulations on a massive effort. Here's how Justyna's morning unfolded: I started my trot/hike with a friend at 5.30am. I had emailed prior to the event and checked if it was OK for me to start that early. My youngest daughte...r was playing hockey at 9am, hence the early start. I got to hockey just in time to witness Sophie score an impressive goal, woohooo! I come from Mount Gambier, we have some gorgeous trails with hills and stairs. I’m not sure if you have heard of the Tower Trail Run? If not, you must come over for a visit to check it out. I have used a part of TTR to complete this event, which includes 6,156 stairs! A few more than during the first event. There are 369 stairs leading up to the Centenary Tower, I might have done a few repeats of those, good for a butt lift apparently...I’m yet to see the results #trailrunningseries

09.01.2022 Trail Run Series ambassador Hannah Madge has written a nice little update on what she's been up to in June - July, and how she's managing the stresses of COVID. "I am finding that the additional stress we are all facing is resulting in a few extra niggles or more runs on tired heavy legs, but now more than ever I am trying to listen to my body and take extra rest days."
