24.01.2022 The Sydney Chamber Music Festival thanks YOU! Thank you to all who came to "Figuratively Speaking " this year at the Manly Art Gallery and Museum. Our concerts... were extremely well attended and our family concert "Nella and the Paradise of Birds" was a sell out! I have received a lot of wonderful feedback from our public and it gives me great joy to know that the music, art and puppets this year touched so many people . It was indeed a celebration of the human spirit and Robert Dickerson has become my good friend in the sky ! I'd like to share some photos from the festival which were taken by the fabulous Master Photographer - Eduardus Lee - eduarduslee.nl Eduardus is the photographer for the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam and happened to be on holiday in Sydney at the time of the SCMF last week!!! Eduardus was our special guest this year and his valuable contribution to the festival is warmly appreciated !! Special thanks also to those new behind the scenes who helped the SCMF run so smoothly . These people include Ross Heathcote Curator/Public Programs Coordinator at the Manly Art Gallery and Museum who was so patient with the SCMF and all the last minute concerns, and Emilia Antcliff, a former flute student of mine and very gifted flautist, who personally helped me with everything from Mailchimp Newsletter setups to figuring out how to work Trybooking.com plus solving many other technical problems! IMPROVEMENTS for next year will include a small stage so that performing artists can be well seen by all. We will also have a sound technician for improved audio in programs such as Up Close and Personal with the spoken word which was a little difficult for some members of the public to hear this year . Each year with your support we can continue to improve the Sydney Chamber Music Festival and I welcome your thoughts and suggestions any time. Thanks also to the SCMF committee members Penny Bell , Michael Hedger , Bruce Hein and Anthony Heinrichs, Akky van Ogtrop, and to our sponsors Penna Lane , Theme & Variations Piano Services, Lindal Hansen Graphic Designer , Jaki Gaskell Web Designer, Willowbelle Portraits, and Principal Supporter - The Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust. To our amazing performing artists this year - Gregg Frank Arthur jazz vocalist and the Peter Locke Quartet , Sydney Puppet Theatre, Composer Jim Coyle of "Paradise of Birds" for flute with Bridget Bolliger and piano Andrew West, Michael Goldschlager on cello, Mezzo sopranos Deborah Humble and Amanda Cole, Guy Noble as host of "Up Close and Personal" and Piers Lane in the grand finale recital , the Sydney Chamber Music Festival thanks you sincerely for sharing your amazing and unique talents .
