23.01.2022 It may be a bit dark, but isolated in the 1st Yass Scout camp headquarters isn't a bad way to start our escape to the remote. A shelter shed with open fire and more firewood than you can poke stick at is a good place to regroup for a few days while we retrain our brains to manage all the things remote camping requires. Such as, do we have enough whisky and brie. All to the tune of ABC Classic' s top 100 Beethoven countdown weekend. Doesn't get much better!

21.01.2022 As promised, we've cast off for wider vistas. Set off with our great friends Nonie and Stuart and meeting Arthur and Merren here at Lake Menindee. With water in it! Last time it was so dry, we saw camels roaming across the lake bed. Came via West Wyalong and our much loved and often visited Willandra Station. Now at Menindee for a few days.
21.01.2022 A few photos from around Menindee and Pimpara Lakes Station, photos courtesy Nonie Betts.

17.01.2022 Getting in a bit of practice for departure to the far west next weekend. This is at Meadow Flat near Bathurst, NSW.
17.01.2022 Been camping around Louth since leaving Bourke, a few more days here before heading for all weather roads. Rain is forecast for Friday. These tracks are not vehicle friendly in rain as we well know. Dunlop was a McCachey (sp?) Property of around a million acres. Built the 14 bedroom Homestead from local rock. Unmarried, no children. Hopeful?
14.01.2022 Ceduna! Back across the Nullarbor, via Eyre Bird Sanctuary, Baxter (The Overseer's) monument, Eucla etc. It's been a fabulous pilgrimage for EJ Eyre. Gale to hurricane winds, fly waves like we've never seen, 7 degree night's to 44 degree days. An amazing country.
13.01.2022 Last camp! Snowy Mountains, Alpine Way. With snow lying beside the road from the previous night. A trip of extreme weather of all kinds. Home now, till our next outback adventure in May 2020.
11.01.2022 Virtual Travel #10. That's it for now! Hope to be posting actual travel soon!

10.01.2022 Travelling south east via Mt Kaputa and the rare giant red slugs! On to Goulburn River NP near Mudgee, via Nonie's Dad's old place in the Pilliga, near Coonabarabran. Home for a few days tomorrow, Tuesday, then off for a beach camp, Kylie's Beach, near Port Macquarie for a couple of weeks.
06.01.2022 Just a brief touch of phone signal passing through Tibboburra. Been camping in Sturt National Park, via Pimpara Lakes Station and Milparinka. On towards Wanaaring and Bourke.
05.01.2022 Nice rest in Ceduna. Very friendly, and nice Western sunsets over the water- last for a while. Then a lovely couple of days at Hiltaba Nature Reserve (Nature Foundation SA). Now at Red Banks Conservation Reserve near Burra SA.

04.01.2022 After leaving Red Banks, we continued East. Where do you think those sand dunes are? The river is the Murray, towards Echuca.

03.01.2022 These are today’s photos from around Lake Pimpara Station. We’ve been doubly lucky being here following the decimating droughts which led to massive destocking, followed by good rain in the part of the property we travelled through today. Result? Meadows of wildflowers. A memorable day’s travels. Thanks to Merren and Nonie for the photos.
