25.01.2022 We have finally got the Water shop on Facebook! If everybody could please share our page for our local family owned and operated business servicing Townsville and the greater region for the past 20 years that would be greatly appreciated. We will slowly post products and specials for everyone to see and we are always available to answer any questions you may have regarding your water filtration needs. 23.01.2022 Have you had your mains connected water cooler serviced since purchasing new? If not, we now offer machine services for businesses or for your home system. We can also do a filter change for you also at the same time if you are due for a change. This can be done Monday to Friday 8am to 530pm and on some Saturdays depending on availability. Please call us on 47712677 to book your service or to get a quote. Below you can see a service that was carried out today on a customers machine that hadn’t been cleaned since purchasing new 2 years ago. You can clearly see a film in the machine and carbon staining. These machines should be cleaned at least once a year so if you haven’t then please consider getting it done.

21.01.2022 It has been a long time since we had the time to post anything for the Water Shop and we have seen some posts lately about the water quality in Townsville lately which isn’t good at all! We have also now remodeled the front of our shop again finally after 30 years! So to celebrate that, i have decided to run a competition and a promotion for the next few weeks! 19.01.2022 With the recent flooding in Townsville we should be concerned about the quality of our water for drinking. What we do know is the water treatment plant at Douglas did break down at one stage, we also know that bugs and bacteria thrive in our dam and with the flooding this adds more to it including dead wildlife, tons of debris and other nasty’s that have the potential to give you and your family a range of illnesses which one of the main ones at the moment is Gastro! I pers...onally wouldn’t drink town water at the moment and if you are boiling water just remember that It only kills bugs (which bugs will give you a really bad stomach) this section has been edited That being said, for the next couple of weeks here at TD Hatrick & Co to help the people impacted by the flooding, we are offering Bench Top filtration systems with a Royal Doulton totally bacteria proof filter for $149, normally $199. Also if you can’t afford that you can bring in your water containers and we will fill them from our filtration system free of charge.

15.01.2022 We are still open and trading as per usual but all customers need to please respect our signage at the front door and the taped off areas for keeping back 1.5 meters due to the current Covid-19 pandemic! We are taking this seriously as we are all family and do not need any illness brought in to this shop. Also abusing our staff as one such customer did yesterday afternoon will not be tolerated at all and nor should it be anywhere during this time! 09.01.2022 Heres a good indication of the water quality in Townsville at the moment! We have a triple filter setup at our shop for the water cooler consisting of a $44 Carbon pre filter (pictured), $88 fluoride cartridge and a $99 Aquaspace cartridge.. The filter in this picture is good for 12 months but this has only been in the housing for 5 months! You can clearly see the brown sludge on the top, the housing was stained that same colour and the cartridge itself has a clear rust stain on it! West Ends pipes are old and this is what comes out of them! Be mindful of the water you drink people. Give us a call for all your water filtration needs and questions on 47712677.

03.01.2022 I just wanted to clarify a post we put up the other day after the floods about boiling water as a lot of people were worried about what they were drinking and we got ridiculed for doing so. Anyway no matter I have updated our post below. I hope all our flood affected customers are doing okay. Yes boiling for 1-3 minutes will kill most bugs and should be sufficient but if you google ABSOLUTE or GUARANTEED sterilisation when boiling you start to get differing opinions. As with... anything people can do their own investigations, all we say is that there are other opinions out there. Giardia and cryptosporidium which are both chlorine resistant and when in cyst form do often require extra boiling to crack the shell. The same applies to UV radiation where up to 10 times the dose is needed when compared to ecoli for example. Googling - department of health how long should you boil water to make it safe to drink, there was a moment their that thought 10 minutes but now state 2 1/2. See more

02.01.2022 What better way to kick off our new page with its first official post and one of my favorite items on display in our shop! For any of you who don't know what this is, its a piece of an old Townsville water main pipe which your drinking water was pumped through! Some of these early to mid 1900's pipelines are still very much in operation in some parts of Townsville! So for those of you who think tap water is fine to drink..
