As a result he was secured in a historic torture instrument of public humiliation the Pillory, but instead of throwing rotten eggs and tomatoes the people of the town threw flowers at him. This Torture Device is one of many currently being shown in the Chamber of Horrors at the Wax Museum on the Gold Coast.
