22.01.2022 The prospect of a new year and the resolutions we set out to make can be a daunting thought. When we set something to resolve, it sets us up from a state of lacking. It is saying that there is something that needs to be fixed. However if we approach the new year with new INTENTIONS, we are acting from a positive and inspired state. Try establishing intentions that will nurture, serve and help you grow this new year, coming from a state of love and acceptance for yourself! In...tention Setting Tips: 1. Come from a place of love; accepting where you are at and looking at it as inspiration to move forward. 2. Be realistic! Create sustainable motivations for yourself. 3. Create physical reminders for yourself. Set a daily alarm with your intention, or write it up on your mirror; something that will remind you to keep coming back to your intention. 4. Have fun with it!

18.01.2022 Start your day with a healthy breakfast. Opt for foods with a low-glycaemic index, which will keep you fuller for longer due to their fibre content and provide sustained energy. Here are a few of our favourite healthy breakfast options:... 1. Good quality muesli (no added sugar) - with Greek yoghurt/coconut yoghurt, #lowgi fruit of choice (berries, kiwifruit, apples etc.) and topped with crushed nuts for a protein hit. 2. Omelette organic egg omelette packed with your favourite vegetables and greens. Omelettes are a great way to add extra veggies to your diet, alongside eggs, which provide a good source of protein. 3. Smoothies use a healthy base of nut milk or coconut water, #lowgi fruit, a spoonful of chia seeds or LSA (for fibre and healthy fats), then add a handful of leafy greens. WANT MORE NUTRITION TIPS? 15.01.2022 Processed sugar in excess is a step towards insulin resistance and dysfunction. Insulin is the bodies natural blood sugar regulator. It allows the uptake of sugar, or glucose, from the blood and into the cells when consumed. Insulin resistance from over consumption leaves the glucose circulating in the blood stream wreaking havoc on blood sugar levels and the rest of the body. Try MONK FRUIT SWEETENER: a natural and healthy sugar alternative, that will satisfy that sweet sp...ot without leaving your blood sugar reeling. In fact, it has the opposite effect; monk fruit works as a blood sugar stabiliser, and can control diabetes. This zero calorie natural sweetener, is 150-250 times sweeter than its processed counterpart, with the added benefit of anti-cancer, antioxidant properties! #wildcotribe#intothewild#wildwoman#bewild#livewild#wearewild#wildchild #vegan#plantbased#plantstrong#sugarfree#dairyfree#glutenfree#nature#nourish#nutrition#naturopathy#monkfruit#health#wellness#wellbeing#fitness#nourishment#holistichealth#functionalnutrition#functionalmedicine#natural#vegansofig#veganfoodshare

14.01.2022 Male Fertility is a vital topic that often does not get the time or attention it deserves. Sperm can take up to 116 days to develop and mature and finally be ejaculated. During this time sperm are susceptible to damage from toxins such as drugs, alcohol, tobacco, nutritional deficiencies and illness. The egg takes 100 days to mature where it is similarly vulnerable to damage. So the health of today’s sperm and egg is indicative of the health of the male and female over the la...st 3 months. Therefore it is recommended to start your preconception health plan at least 4 months prior to trying to conceive. 13.01.2022 Wild Recipe of the Day: Raw Vegan Herbed Nut Cheese Try this satisfying dairy free alternative! Essentials... Blender Colander Cheese Cloth/ Nut Milk Strainer Plate & Bowl (+ something heavy to weigh down the bowl) Ingredients 1/2 Cup Macadamia Nuts 1/2 Cup Cashew Nuts 1/2 Cup + 2 Tbsp Pure Water (or just enough to cover all the nuts when in blender) 3tbsp chopped sage 1tbsp parsley or coriander INSTRUCTIONS 1. Blend everything together (If you are not using a high speed blender, you may need to occasionally stop and scrape the mixture off the sides. Pulse from time to time, making sure there is always some mixture touching the blades). Make sure the nuts are well ground and the mixture is creamy. 2. Place the colander on a plate (this will stop the whey, which will be strained out in the process, from making a mess on the table). Place cheese cloth inside the colander. 3. Pour the mixture onto the cloth. 4. Place the bag inside another one, or if you only own one- try turn it over itself, just as long as no mixture can escape when placing a weight on top. 5. Place whatever you decided to use as a weight on top and put the stack in a place away from draughts. 6. Walk away for 24 hours. 7. Transfer to the fridge for half an hour to harden, shape into logs and then roll into any herbs or spices you like. #vegan#plantbased#plantstrong#dairyfree#glutenfree#wholefoods#nutrtition #nature#naturopathy#wellness#health#wellbeing#fitness#womanshealth#veganfoodshare#vegansofig#wildcotribe#wildwoman#intothewild#bewild#livewild

09.01.2022 A New Year symbolises a fresh start, endless possibilities and a time to set new exciting goals. 2018 is near, which is why it’s the perfect time to start reflecting on the year that has been and setting realistic goals as we welcome in the New Year. No matter what your goals may be, here are our top 3 tips for realistic goal setting: 1. Break larger goals down into small goals. By breaking down your larger goals, you will be able to keep track of your achievements without f...eeling overwhelmed or losing motivation. E.g If you want to run 6kms, start by running 2km, 4km and eventually build up to your bigger goal of 6km. 2. Be specific for example, if you are wanting to start adding more fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet, be specific by setting yourself a smaller goal. This could be to eat 1 cup of vegetables with every meal (including breakfast). 3. Keep a journal write out your New Years goals in a journal so you can check every 3 months and make notes on how you are tracking. WANT MORE HEALTH HACKS? 07.01.2022 COFFEE? SUGAR? COFFEE? How to Stop the Cycle: When we really need our brains to charge into fifth gear, we often hop from one stimulant to another. Sometimes short-term perks can work well for things like athletic performance and exams, but ideally we need to think about our long-term brain health and strength. Caffeine is often our go-to quick fix! Caffeine acts as a mild stimulant to the brain, making you feel super alert and less fatiguedtemporarily! Caffeine’s performan...ce effects are short lived and can come with some nasty side effects; including shakes, anxiety and a blood sugar crash. Try to stop caffeine consumption by 1:00 pm in order to ensure that it does not affect your ability to sleep soundly. After that time, try herbal teas, water, coconut water, broth, etc. until bedtime. Dosage: No more than 300mg (2 espressos a day). Try Caffeine + L-theanine: when caffeine is consumed in with L-theanine (amino acid found in green tea) it can create longer lasting positive benefits on performance. Why? L-theanine can cross the blood-brain barrier, which can counteract the negative stimulant effects of caffeine, including anxiety and increased blood pressure. #health#healthtips#didyouknow#vegan#plantbased#plantstrong#coffee#sugarfree#dairyfree#wellness#nutrition#nutritionalmedicine#naturopathy#healthy#healthylifestyle#breakfast#vegansofig#naturalmedicine#nature#adventure#wilderness#holistichealth #wearewild#livewild#bewild#wildcotribe#wildwoman#thewildcompany

03.01.2022 Happy Monday from The Wild Co! DID YOU KNOW? Australian Valencia oranges have a green tinge to their peel. This acts as nature’s sunscreen and protects them from the scorching Aussie sun as they ripen! This simple orange has much to offer! RESEARCH SHOWS THAT A GLASS OF ORANGE JUICE OFFER MORE PROTECTION THAN JUST VITAMIN C ALONE. #foodasmedicine... Research has shown that consuming vitamin C supplements does not provide the same protective benefits as drinking a glass of orange juice. Seven healthy test subjects were given each of three drinks, two weeks apart: blood-orange juice containing 150 milligrams of vitamin C, fortified water containing 150 milligrams of vitamin C, and a sugar and water solution containing no vitamin C. Blood samples were collected immediately before the drink was consumed, then every hour for 8 hours, and finally 24 hours after consumption of each drink. Blood samples were exposed to hydrogen peroxide, and free radical damage to DNA was evaluated at 3 and 24 hours. Only when orange juice was consumed was any protective effect seen. After drinking orange juice, DNA damage was 18% less after 3 hours, and 16% less after 24 hours. No protection against DNA damage was seen after consumption of the vitamin C fortified drink or the sugar drink. #foodasmedicine#nature#nutrition#naturopathy#plantbased#vegan#plantstrong#whatveganseat#adventure#healing#vitaminc#antioxidants#fruit#veganfoodshare#selflove#selfcare#fitfam#nutritionist #thewildco#wildwoman#wildcotribe#wearewild#livewild#bewild#thewildcompany

Try Caffeine + L-theanine: when caffeine is consumed in with L-theanine (amino acid found in green tea) it can create longer lasting positive benefits on performance. Why? L-theanine can cross the blood-brain barrier, which can counteract the negative stimulant effects of caffeine, including anxiety and increased blood pressure. #health#healthtips#didyouknow#vegan#plantbased#plantstrong#coffee#sugarfree#dairyfree#wellness#nutrition#nutritionalmedicine#naturopathy#healthy#healthylifestyle#breakfast#vegansofig#naturalmedicine#nature#adventure#wilderness#holistichealth #wearewild#livewild#bewild#wildcotribe#wildwoman#thewildcompany
