24.01.2022 We all might have a bit more time on our hands this Easter break. Celebrate with your family in style with these fabulous Easter Eggs! TRADITIONAL POLISH EGG PAINTING WORKSHOP Friday 20 March 2020... 5.30 - 9.30pm The Workshop Room at The SHAC A fully immersive experience that teaches you how to create stunning painted eggs the traditional Polish way. Perfect for all abilities! Each year just before Easter, Kasia puts aside her embroidery work to focus on painting beautiful eggs as she has been doing almost every year since she was a child, when she learned by observing her grandfather in Poland. Learn how to blow out an egg the RIGHT way which is easy and quick. There are two mistakes people almost always make which makes blowing out the egg difficult and frustrating. Create specific grids on your egg surface which makes the actual drawing of the design SUPER easy. Not just easy but SUPER EASY! Hold the egg and your pen so you actually get smooth line work. Create a myriad of different designs off a few simple grids. You'll keep painting one egg after another and no two will be the same. Students will receive all supplies to create 6 painted eggs. Participants should bring along their own egg cartoon to ensure safe transportation of their beautiful newly painted eggs. Evening refreshments included in ticket price so get a group of friends together and head on down to the @shac_robertson Book at www.theworkshoproom.com.au

WHAT Look and love the pomp of the rooster Draw and feel the flourish of his feathers across the page. Stitch and give him new life with beautiful fabric Flamboyant, extravagant, glorious to the last feather; the Rooster is the perfect subject to rouse your inner child for two days of play. You too, can be bolder than a rooster, with pen and paper, fabric and thread. From simple line drawings, we’ll make templates. YOU If you can hold a pencil, if you can thread a needle, you can do this workshop. Take home lots of drawings; and one, perhaps two, fabric fancies well on the way to completion - roosters to hang, or frame, or make into something much more. 18.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE This is John Waters with the divine Deborah Mailman. You might recognise John as Australian film, theatre and television actor, singer, guitarist..., songwriter and musician @johnwatersoriginal What you might not know about John is that beyond his handsome, silver fox looks is an incredibly big heart with a ridiculously creative and smart intellect. John is a valued member of many communities. You will see him opening art exhibitions, fundraising at school events, performing at charity gigs for health research and even Ubering his friends and family all over the district. Earlier this year, instead of resting over the Summer break, John and a team of creatives put on a concert for Bush Fire relief that raised approx $340k in just 4 short weeks. This was an extraordinary achievement and something that not only provided financial relief to our area, but a much needed lift in community spirit. 2020 had its challenges early and you know how this story goes... John is a Creative Artist who was told to ‘Pivot, innovate, adapt, collaborate, evolve’ etc etc. by our fearless leaders in Canberra. He has managed to do all of this and more with his original new work, ‘Rondolino’ a Renaissance musical comedy. Set in the early 1600s Galileo- scientist, astronomer and recently convicted of heresy, finds himself locked down in isolation in the villa of the flamboyant Ferdinando II De’ Medici - Grand Duke of Tuscany.... After his success with ‘Lennon - through a glass onion’ the anticipation to see this new work come to life is immense. This is where you come in. A @gofundme page has been set up to raise the funds for ‘Rondolino’ to hit the stage. For many, times are tough but if you can help in any way big of small, it will be appreciated by many and many more in the future. Here is the link https://www.gofundme.com/f/john-waters-new-original-musical Go fund the arts! Go fund Rondolino! #artistsupportartists
