25.01.2022 HOW AMAZING!!!!

20.01.2022 GREAT NEWS FROM THE TYC STUDIO! We are super excited to announce that due to the QLD Governments Covid restrictions are being eased over the coming week, TYC will be re-opening our Studio doors from MONDAY 15th JUNE! TYC students will be able to return to their physical classes at the TYC Studio with social distancing measures in place. All workshop sessions will be non-contact and participants will be advised to follow social distancing protocols.... We will be required to implement the following procedures during this time: 20 People maximum in each workshop session. TYC Staff will be following strict Covid-19 Cleaning and Hygiene practices. Students are asked to not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to their workshop starting. Only if essential and if your child is of a young age, may parents/carers accompany your child into the foyer area prior to their session. TYC Facilitators will be on hand to supervise in the foyer and sign participants out following their workshop session. Parents and Carers should not gather in the foyer area or in front of the Theatre premises during this time. We ask that all Participants observe social distancing practices when waiting for their workshop session to commence. If you are unwell or have any cold or flu like symptoms, we ask that you kindly refrain from attending your workshop session for that day. All students currently participating in our Online Workshop Sessions will be automatically enrolled for the return to our physical class workshop sessions. We are also currently in the process of finalising our return to physical workshop sessions for our Satellite programs with the school administrations! We will most certainly give all of our Satellite program students the heads up when we have that confirmation! In the meantime, we will continue on with our online sessions with our satellite program groups. 05.01.2022 THE YOUNG COMPANY THEATRE 18/3 UPDATE CLASSES STILL ON Due to the spread of COVID-19 virus, TYC has been taking precautionary measures and will continue to do so. ... Although there are no reported cases in Cairns as yet, we want and need to do our part for the community, while still giving our TYC students the ability to keep going with their weekly routine in such uncertain times. Most students already know and are doing this, but to be clear we have put in these basic measures: We will require everyone to wash their hands at TYC before they start their class and after their class before leaving TYC. Soap will be in all the bathrooms for their use. We ask that any children displaying symptoms of being sick (even if mild) do not attend classes or if you have returned from overseas within 14 days of your class. Please do let us know via email. We understand that some families have already made the decision to self-isolate. Please do let us know via email as we do have access to some online resources that can keep students engaged with their theatre studies during this time. Extra cleaning of the theatre will be taking place to ensure as hygienic area as possible. We will be monitoring any updated information or guidelines from the authorities going forward and will advise you of any changes to this. School Holiday programs will be still going ahead at this time. Thank you for your help and assistance with this.

03.01.2022 MAINSTAGE PRODUCTION POSTPONED THIS WEEKEND The team at TYC has regretfully had to postpone our upcoming season of the MainStage production 'Masquerade' which was set to be staged this weekend. We are acting on the latest advice issued by the Qld Government in regards to large groups of 100 and in response to health and safety procedures for our performers, students and the TYC Community as a whole. This has been a very tough decision by the TYC Team however the safety of our... community is important to us.
