We have been advised that under the NSW Public Health Act, inspector numbers have been boosted by the NSW government in a bid to stop the spread of COVID-19. As a result, Fair Trading has been provided with powers to commence conducting inspections of open homes and auctio...ns, and impose fines (or, in worst cases, business shut-down) where an agency is found to be flouting COVID-19 safety measures.
