13.01.2022 To help you get to know our line-up and all the phenomenal talent they bring, this DJ profile on AVAXA is the first of many that will be announced by This Is Ar...t for our Following Feathers Exhibit in November! AVAXA plays melodic house and techno until her fingers bleed, leading you through expansive mountainsides and dark corridors. Warm, buttery melodies combine with alluring bass, dark rhythms and clean synth work, to create the immersive AVAXA experience. Drawing infuence from the sounds of the natural Australian environment and from years playing at clubs, festivals and in forests, she has cultivated a true appreciaton for how electronic music can be enriched by well-placed acoustics and atmospheric ambience. AVAXA’s performances have embellished Australia and Europe alongside Ben Böhmer, Deborah De Luca,TAYA, Somersault and Paces, and at festivals such as Ars Electronica, Earth Frequency, Elements, Rabbits Eat Letuce, Jungle Love, Arcadia and Bigsound. AVAXA has this ever evolving vision that is truly captivating. Purple Sneakers described AVAXA as one of those enigmatic artsts that imbues meaning to every detail as to create a mytholony around their music. Fixed in the search for the modern sound; AVAXA is ever looking forward to see how the aural sphere can be reinvented. Infuenced by artists such as Jeremy Olander, ANNA, MHA IRI, Simon Doty, Doppel, Township Rebellion, Joseph Ashworth, John Lead and Julian Wassermann and labels like Recovery Collective, Techgnosis, Anjunadeep, Parquet Recordings, Open Records and Bassic Records. AVAXA also performs a more experimental live set of original productions, often accompanied by flute or woodwind and a bowed double bass. In additon to this she runs a weekly radio show called Hyperfluid which looks at the spectrum of electronic music with podcast style discussions and uninterrupted sets. Green brings a delectable palette of tasteful and unique sounds to the dancefloor. Also studying psychology, she enjoys the intimate nature of selecting and curating sound to create an immersive, aural and transcendental journey for dancers alike. You can expect to hear a warm and soulful journey with inspiration from world, disco and house throughout her set.
