15.01.2022 Studies have shown that people who sleep less than seven hours a day tend to gain more weight and have a higher risk of becoming obese than those who do get sev...en hours of shut-eye The reason, it’s believed, is that sleep-deprivation leads to reduced levels of leptin (the chemical that makes you feel full) and increased levels of ghrelin (the hormone that stimulates hunger). Switching off screens 30 minutes before bedtime, getting active during the day and avoiding caffeinated drinks in the afternoon can help you get a better night's sleep #MotivationMonday See more

06.01.2022 Let's talk about Heart Health, While heart disease death rates have fallen dramatically in Australia in the last 10 years, it is still the leading cause of death. Heart disease can also lead to chronic health problems that require ongoing or life-long care. However, many incidences of heart disease are preventable. That is because the risk factors related to many heart disease conditions are related to your lifestyle choices, such as what you eat, how much you exercise and whether or not you smoke. 05.01.2022 Updated information: From 1am Monday 4 January, anyone who has been in Victoria on or since 21 December will be restricted from entering vulnerable facilities, ...including aged care facilities, hospitals, disability accommodation and correctional facilities. While Queensland’s borders remain unchanged, anyone currently in Queensland who has been in Victoria on or since 21 December should get tested immediately and quarantine at home or their accommodation until they receive a negative result. We are closely monitoring the situation in New South Wales and Victoria and urge Queenslanders to reconsider non-essential travel to these states as it is an evolving situation. If you do decide to go to Victoria or New South Wales, you need to be aware of the potential consequences, such as border changes and not making it home to Queensland before hotel quarantine is imposed. If you’re already in Victoria or New South Wales, consider coming home. Stay up to date with the latest COVID-19 updates here: https://www.qld.gov.au//conditions/he/coronavirus-covid-19
