13.01.2022 COACH Community Mentoring program offers empowering, goals-based mentoring to people and families in our community who are experiencing difficult seasons in life. It's one of several Thornleigh Community Care outreach ministries that seek to practically demonstrate the love of Christ to our local community. Our amazing team of mentors have walked alongside people from our community who have been dealing with challenges ranging from family and relationship breakdown, domestic ...violence, mental health issues, financial stress, unemployment, parenting issues, loneliness, addictions and other things that prevent people and families from flourishing in life. These challenges often leave people feeling defeated, lonely, and hopeless. What we love about COACH is seeing the way it restores people's view of themselves through empowering and practical love, seeing people connected into back into community and friendships, and watching people find hope again. We are looking forward to expanding COACH in 2020! For more information, email [email protected]
12.01.2022 THE RESILIENCE CENTRE - One of the excellent support services we regularly refer people to is the great team at The Resilience Centre based at Epping. Not only do they provide experienced and professional psychology and counselling services, but they also regularly host really helpful clinics on a variety of topics. The Resilience Centre also have a bunch of free articles you can read and podcasts you can listen to straight from the website at https://www.theresiliencecentre.com.au/
10.01.2022 HORNSBY CONNECT - A big encouragement in hearing from Rose who is one of the volunteers from TCBC who helps each Wednesday at Hornsby Connect. Rose started volunteering as a translator for the non-english speaking Chinese community back in January this year, but has since discovered opportunities to help people practically in meeting with Centrelink and accessing other support services in the area. Keep up the great work Rose, and all the others who serve in this excellent program You can find out more about Hornsby Connect via their website at www.hornsbyconnect.org.au
09.01.2022 Do you live in the Thornleigh, Westleigh, Normanhurst, Pennant Hills area? We have started a 'Love You Neighbour' facebook group, where we will be regularly sharing with you ways in which you can love and serve your neighbours and those doing it especially tough during this challenging season. We also want to invite you, our neighbours, to share needs, ideas and suggestions with us through this group. Our hope is to harness the creativity and generous spirit of our wonderful... community to love our neighbours well, and emerge from this time of crisis and challenge as a stronger, more loving, and more connected neighbourhood. Jesus said, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ - Mark 12:31 Now, more than ever, it is vital that we look beyond ourselves to the needs of those around us, particularly the vulnerable and marginalised who will be most impacted by this crisis. Let us start a revolution of love in our streets, neighbourhoods and suburbs that lasts well beyond this current crisis.
09.01.2022 Have you joined our 'Love Your Neighbour' online community yet? It's a space to share creative and practical ways to love, serve, and engage with our neighbours in this new season. Our vision is to see streets and neighbourhoods emerge from this crisis stronger, more connected, more generous and more resilient than ever. Join via the link and share your ideas and stories! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1050132212039410/
