25.01.2022 Its with a saddened heart that i announce the passing of Rocky Maruzza. Rocky was the commander at the Port Welshpool coast guard. Rocky and the PWCG were big supporters of our club FARA fundraiser snapper comp over the past few years. He was a very knowledgeable man with his seamanship and his time and efforts with the PWCG was to be applauded saving many distressed vessels and lives. I have gained a lot of knowledge with seamanship in my time in the PWCG and will always be... thankful for the sea time and knowledge he tought me as a member of the PWCG which has helped me get to where i am today. On behalf of my self (Dave Johnson)and the Thorpdale and District Angling club i would like to send my deepest condolences to his family and friends. RIP Rocky... may you have smooth seas See more

See post below for application form and comp rules.....there are plenty of snapper being caught at Port Albert and Welshpool at the moment, so get out there and enjoy.

11.01.2022 So the South Gippsland Shire have proposed using funds raised by the boat ramp car parking to be spend on sealing the long jetty car park and building toilet am...enities for users of the long jetty. Am I the only one that thinks any of this money or capital works money should first be spent on the ramp upgrade and sealing the boat ramp car park? If you feel as I do please contact you local member or the shire and let them know your thoughts. We raised it we should benefit from it! See more

09.01.2022 The annual Booga comp is going through some changes.....please see below. The Booga comp will run over a period of 2 weeks. Starting 6pm on 2/11/18 and finishing at 1pm on 18//11/18. All entry forms need to be emailed to the club, and entry fees must be sent via eftpos. All entry fees must be received by 5pm on 9/11/18. Details on application form below.... There will be 1 prize of $200 for the longest Snapper regardless of age of the angler. Further details re rules etc are on the attached application form.
