25.01.2022 When your elderly border collie judges your lack of ball handling skills

25.01.2022 Online shop coming soon!

25.01.2022 A worthwhile read for this time of year. It so important to bring them back into work slowly after a spell rather than risk injury.

25.01.2022 As much as I am missing not being behind the camera at the moment, I am greatful these tools allow me to still be creative in a different way.

So many lives lost, at least 17 known human casualties and an estimated 500 million wild and domestic animals with absolutely no end in sight. The only thing most of us can do to help is donate money to the registered charities and organisations. I'm sure that donations of physical goods will be needed down the track, but in any major disaster the immediate requirement is money for those directly involved to use as needed in order of priority. If you would like to help from anywhere in the world, please donate to any of the organisations below (I will update this list as I find other registered charities and organisations). Every cent counts.

23.01.2022 Happy Friday! I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend with your horse!

19.01.2022 Summer is not my favourite tine of year but I have to admit the long evenings are perfect to spend like this with the red pony mare

17.01.2022 'Culling' dosn't just mean careful catching and re-homing them - it means chasing down family groups and shooting them from helicopters because the high country is mostly inaccessible. The inhumane chasing of wild flight animals by helicopters in rough terrain causes injuries such as broken legs, poorly placed shots, mothers killed and foals left to die -some over many days. Just google what happened during the Guy Fawkes River National Park aerial cull in 2000. Please sig...n the petition to save these iconic Australian National Heritage brumbies. https://www.savethebrumbies.com.au/

17.01.2022 This year has been a tough one for everyone hasn't it? Covid aside, I have struggled with debilitating injuries that prevent me from holding my camera and important things like riding my horses and just being able to walk around my house. But the HUGE silver lining is that I have had all this time to dedicate to my art that I never would have otherwise had. I've been able to study advanced techniques and develop my skills in ways I didn't think possible 6 months ago - incl...uding painting people I won't be able to show new work until after the big day in December as its mostly secret squirrel Christmas commissions so I thought I would share some of the non-horse paintings I have created over the last few months like this one. 16.01.2022 I'm elbow deep in a big project we have been working on for quite a while and thought I would ask how many of you own a horse related business?

15.01.2022 You learn something knew every day! Not all of our rope halters have a long enough 'tail' to tie in a quick release knot, but this way is heaps better (and probably won't loosen off either).

14.01.2022 What an honour to be selected among the State Finalists for Photography Business of the year! Thank you so much and good luck to all the other finalists in each state :)

14.01.2022 Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend with their ponies! We took the two red ones, Flame and Tessa for a play at the amazing OTC Horse Park W.A: Obstacle Training Course yesterday. Lucky for us its just down the road from us in Boyup Brook, but this was the first time we had been. Its well worth the trip for anyone who lives outside the area, I highly recommend it for horses of all experience levels!

11.01.2022 A new painting from an old photo of a gorgeous pali foal I met about 13 years ago.

11.01.2022 While I have been stuck inside with a moonboot on my leg and a brace on my hand I have been keeping myself entertained (and the creative juices flowing) with lots of portrait painting and re-editing photos. Black background studio portraits are stunning, but I really like the look of a subtle complimentary coloured background as well.

10.01.2022 I am closing my book for pre-Christmas delivery portrait painting commissions today, unfortunately due to covid delivery times have been lengthy and are likely to get worse over the next 6 weeks. Gift Certificates will be available but once I finish my current commissions I may be able to offer one or two spots with express delivery for some locations. Please let me know if you would like to join the wait list as it will be a first in first served basis.

08.01.2022 A priceless moment of tenderness caught in one of my all time favourite photos

06.01.2022 What a cracker of a light show Mother Nature put on last night! Literally on my front doorstep (but thankfully for our horses and thunder phobic border collies it didn't come over us). It was so intense that I have dozens of photos to process, which almost makes up for hardly being able to hold my camera and create photos for most of the year. Almost

06.01.2022 Gosh I love watching these two little girls and their ponies. Just a tad jealous of all that lovely green grass as well!

05.01.2022 Do you have a horse related business or blog? One of the big projects I have been working one for quite some time is taking my equine and rural stock photo library online. If you are a horse business owner or blogger I would really appreciate you filling in this short survey about your stock photo and graphics needs. ... It will only take a couple of minutes and will really help us to build the best product and service possible! https://threeredponies.com.au/stock-photography/ Please share with friends if this is relevant to them.

03.01.2022 Happy Valentines Day! Who needs roses when you have a pony (or five) who eat all your money

03.01.2022 I'm flat out finishing up all my Christmas commissions at the moment, but thought I would share this painting I did a while ago of a gorgeous tawny frogmouth bird I photographed a few years ago. Prints and products featuring this painting will be available when it is added to my shop.

01.01.2022 I have taught photography classes in person for the last eight years and last year started working on converting my course notes into an eBook geared specifically to horse owners wanting to improve their photography. The ebook is nearing completion, but before it is released I would love to know exactly what new photographers need most so I can help them improve their photography skills quickly. This quick survey will only take a few minutes and I would love to hear from anyo...ne who wants to learn how to take better photos, no matter what type of camera they use. https://threeredponies.com.au/photography-basics-for-horse/
