25.01.2022 *2020 Volunteer of the Year Awards* This year, Hockey WA is revamping the Volunteer of the Year Awards that encourages and promotes the great work of the volu...nteers in our sport right across the state. Each month, we will highlight one person from each region and two from the Metro region, who have committed their time and made a difference in their community via Hockey WA’s social platforms At the end of the season, all the nominees will be in the running for the Regional and Metro Volunteer of the Year Awards, depending on their respective locations. The competition will run over June, July, August & September with each round opening on the 1st of every month and closing on the 20th of that same month. 22.01.2022 What a great turnout for our first game of 2020! Junior's kicked off the day with a fairly even game against Mingenew. We had 6 kids returning to Juniors and 7 playing their first game today. Billie had a great first half as our goalie, while Kade & Riley did a great job as our full backs. Gemma solid as always in the halfback position helping our 2 first gamers Mason & Molly while Kody ran his legs off all day in centre forward and Eliza worked up and down the wing. Linc and... Charlie ran their hearts out as inners and Jett, Harlan & Shae all had a go on the wing. I was really pleased with how each and every one of them played today. The older players took on a leadership role and helped the new players out and they all worked together well as a team. We went down 2-1 with a last minute goal to Mingenew just before the final whistle and while it wasn't a win on the scoreboard it was a win in my books and I couldn't be happier with their game. Our goal was scored by Riley Thomas. While we aren't doing awards this year a special mention goes to Molly Haeusler, who played her first junior game and was up against an opponent twice her height. She wasn't afraid to get in and tackle and won the ball on a number of occasions. Also some great strong tackles by Mason & Lincoln and well done also to Shae Stone who was a bit nervous about having a run in Juniors and loved it so much she didn't want to come off! Thanks to Corrina, Heidi and Katie for your assistance. We will start training on Thursday after school to work on building our skills before our next game against Morawa in 3 weeks. Next up we had Minkey and the turn out of kids was incredible with 25 kids coming along for a game. As always with Minkey everyone is a winner and it was great to see so many kids enjoying hockey today. Big thanks to Fiona and Heidi for rounding them all up and umpiring. It was really pleasing to see such a big turn out today across all sports and alot of people staying to grab a meal after the game. Biggest crowd in a long while. Thanks to all those who supported the canteen, bar and dinners after the game and came down to cheer on their teams. See you all back at home in a few weeks against Morawa and good luck to Footy & Netball for next week.

21.01.2022 Bombers first game for 2020 on today at Three Springs.. Junior Hockey at 11am Minkey at 12pm... Also playing today are A & B Netball, Footy, Nippers & Under 9's. Come down and support the Bombers, grab some lunch from the canteen and stay for some international bites & beers after the game. Hockey Club has sanitiser available for use at our games and the toilets have soap and handwriting facilities so please make sure you practice good hygiene. Hope to see you there. Let's go Bombers!

19.01.2022 Three Springs v Morawa Saturday 8th August at HOME Senior Hockey at 11am followed by Nippers, Netball & League Football.. TS v TS game for the Jnr Hockey/Minkey kids at 3pm as MO wont have kids for a side. ... Don your Sombrero and best Mexican Outfit and come along for some delicious Mexican Food & Drinks after the game thanks to our Hockey & Netball Clubs. See you all there, Amigo's!!

18.01.2022 2020 Hockey Update: Following last night's hockey association meeting a decision has been made to withdraw all 3 hockey grades from the 2020 premiership season due to hardships by half our member clubs in meeting the strict covid19 requirements set by their councils. While disappointing for our hockey community it would not be financially viable to play with just 2 or 3 teams participating. The good news is there is still plenty of scope for us to play informal scratch match...es on sports weekends and remain active by continuing to train for fitness, socialisation and skills upkeep and also work with the NMWHA to offer alternatives such as a weekend clinic, a round robin later in the season or an exhibition match on Grand Final Day. The association is keen to hear any ideas from members on what we can do to keep players interested in hockey so we can hopefully have teams to return to sport next year

17.01.2022 Hi MEMBERS, it's been an interesting few weeks trying to sort out the 2020 season but we have pulled enough numbers together to have a JUNIOR & MINKEY game at home this Saturday. Please note TIME CHANGE for this weekend only 11am start for Juniors (be there ready to warm up at 10:45am) followed by Minkey at the usual 12pm time. This allows kids to get over to Nippers & Under 9's with plenty of time and avoids a clash with kids playing both sports. Currently MI, CW & MO have Junior sides so we endeavour to get games happening for the kids when we play these teams as well as some scratch matches during the 4 finals weekends. Junior training will also start on Thursday afternoons from next week. Looking forward to seeing our kids back on the field this weekend. 13.01.2022 Great Junior Match today against Coorow with a Nil All result. Our younger players all had a fantastic game, learning their positions and they weren't afraid to have a go at tackling and taking free hits. Our seasoned Juniors again showed excellent leadership, helping the new players out and directing them. Well done to all those players and thank you to Janine for Umpiring. Keep up the good work!

Thanks to our parent helpers Kellie Thomas, Chris Lane & Nadine Eva No game this weekend but we will have a game the following week for our home game v Morawa.

07.01.2022 The Three Springs Hockey Club would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Vant Veer family on the recent passing of Donna. She was a valued Life Member of our Hockey Club as a player, umpire, office bearer, delegate, supporter and friend and she will be missed by many. RIP Donna

04.01.2022 First game of 2020 for our Seniors and a number of Junior players made their Senior debut today. Well done to Kade Lane and brothers Riley & Linc Thomas - who got to pull on the boots along side Mum Kellie Thomas (pictured). We managed a win 3-2 with 2 goals to our young gun Riley and 1 to Heidi. Was great to see Tamara Sadler back in the goals after a few years off too. Great job Bombers! Let's do it again next week in Coorow!!
