In this case its a Photo Studio but the model works for any business. All your clients go through a series of steps in a certain order to make a decision to work with you or buy your product. They are all trying to understand the value that you offer in relation to what they desire. The process begins with Attention and moves to Interest, Consideration, Evaluation then Decision. If you bring your client experience into harmony with this process then you will convert more client interest into Sales...

20.01.2022 How to be Happier in your business Ultimately happiness is an internal journey and its up to you. But there are things you can look for and focus on to bring more happiness into your work. Here are three areas to look at 1. Human Connection... 2. Positive Mindset 3. Flow State Human Connection - Look at how you build relationships with your clients, ask yourself these questions and answer them honestly. Are you genuinely interested in them? Do you take the time to ask questions to find out who they really are and respond in kind? How vulnerable are you prepared to be to achieve a deep level connection with each of your clients? Do you see your clients as dollar signs judging them on the car they drive the clothes they wear or the home they own? Based on your recent experience and if you were your client how do you think you would feel about the relationship? As you work through these questions look at all the ways you could build deeper, stronger and more positive experiences with your clients and implement them into your daily interactions. Positive Mindset - This seems all too obvious but sometimes we forget that this is a choice we can make. Everyday when you wake up make a decision to silence your negative and accentuate the positive thoughts in your head. You choose what thought is loudest! Flow State - This is when you are working and the hours pass as minutes and you become more energised the more you create. If you truely love your art form as a photographer you should be able to tune into this energy and let it drive you as much as possible. If you cant do this then you need to question your commitment to this industry, perhaps there is something else that sparks you up more? Either way make the effort to sync with your energy of Flow. 19.01.2022 ARE YOU STRUGGLING WITH BELIEF? OK heres something for everyone holding on too tight or frustrated with cultivating the right kind of belief system Having a positive belief system is often talked about and taught to anyone wanting to develop a better business. This is because people want to seek within the comfort of belief. But your belief system no matter how great has its limitations.... Heres something to try right now: Let go of your beliefs and frustration and accept that you simply do not know, dont try to replace them just let them go and allow yourself to become a seeker rather than a believer. You dont actually need to believe anything at all, as long as you are open to discover what is actually real. Once you truly see things for what they really are it matters little what you believed, you have found the truth and the truth has found you and your options are now limitless. If you are determined to operate with the belief system model of living then make sure your beliefs serve you. If you are struggling and need something else to focus on then try this. 18.01.2022 THE FUTURE OF PHOTOGRAPHY - NZIPP EVENT As promised heres my take away and main points raised and talked about during last nights NZIPP Future of Business discussion Everything is going to be alright!... There will be an industry after COVID but it will be different. A commitment to a regeneration effort and a positive mindset operating with care and kindness in the community will be key Your potential clients are sitting at home right now planning the things they want to do once lockdown is over - Now is the best time to be communicating with them. What ever your challenges are dont pass bad feelings on to your client. At the front end of your business be a friend to your client. Lead from the front dont get bogged down in the backend issues of your business. Possibly the biggest threat to the industry post COVID will be a flood of photographers promoting all at once - Dont wait for the lockdown to be over before you start promoting and connecting with your audience. There is a possibility there will be new photographers on the scene after loosing jobs and now picking up a camera. These people will need a lot of help if they are starting a business without any experience in a post COVID world. If you see them out there try to point them in the right direction - ie: NZIPP membership or mentoring of some sort. It is highly likely there will be a large number of photographers operating out of a mindset of fear and desperation offering all sorts of different promotions and deals. If you are planning on doing something different or pivoting make sure you reach out and get the support you need to make good decisions particularly on the pricing of your services, we dont want to end up in a price war its a race to the bottom for everyone! Before you offer value by discounting or lowering your price come up with at least 3 other things of value that you can offer to incentivise your clients to work with you. If you cant think of anything other than reducing price reach out and get help. Start networking and gathering the group of people who care about your business and start influencing them to either future book you or refer you. These people will be your goto resource for your business recovery. Be careful making assumptions on what people can afford post COVID. The reality is; Some people will be struggling and some people will be cashed up ready to spend. Remember, there has been a huge amount of stimulus injected into the economy and a lot less for people to spend their money on so its not economic doom for all. Dont let yourself become overwhelmed just take things one step at a time and do what your business needs to thrive, if you need help reach out and find it. 15.01.2022 If you are feeling dissatisfied with the results of a promotion it could be because you have friction points in the delivery of your message. Friction points are where your prospective client looses connection with your message and decides not to go any further with you. One of the most common reasons this happens is because of a message disconnect.... This is where your landing page or website dont make sense with your marketing message and advertising, in short your sales process fails to keep your client connected to the action you want them to take. If this is happening your client is experiencing cognitive dissonance and is no longer relating to you in the way you want them to. Another reason this happens is when you copy someone elses (successful) campaign. It looks awesome and it works for them but its just not you. Your clients see this and can tell that something is off. This impacts trust levels and your whole promotion goes into the Why should I waste my time basket. What to remember - Your client is driven by their instincts not rational thought. They are interested in themselves and have a whats in it for me mentality. To keep your client interested you need to force an emotional bond appealing to their intuition and show that you are interested in solutions that appeal to them. What to look for - Your message should always be client and solution focused. Look for the points where the message in your sales process strays from this and becomes self or product focused. Summary - Your entire sales process needs to be seamless and easy for your client. They should literally be able to flow through it and take the action you want them to take. 12.01.2022 COVID19 Action Plan for Your Business How is your business handling the COVID19 outbreak? Right now it is tough to know how to handle the rapidly changing events: If you need help with this heres a method that will get you set up in a proactive manner.... 08.01.2022 Are you struggling to sell yourself? Everything we do comes down to motive (why) and self confidence (how). With all the competition out there you need to be selling yourself in a compelling way just to get your slice of the pie. In other words if you dont back yourself you will loose clients to someone who is.... If you are struggling to convert interest into bookings or to increase your sales then perhaps you dont have a strong why which often leads to poor self confidence. Does your inner dialogue sound something like this: I wish I could get more clients but Im not as good as (insert your competitors name here). Then you are backing them not you! Heres something to try on for size. Find a quite place, get centred and say this to yourself out loud. I am good enough and I deserve it, I love my life and I love what I bring to the world. Im changing peoples lives for the better and in turn living authentically with joy. I manifest my success and control my outcomes, when things dont go as I planned I have the courage and vision to make the changes needed. I fucking Rock! If it flows and feels good then you are on the right track. If you feel it is somewhat true but uncomfortable then identify what it is that you feel unsure of and work on the beliefs and attitude you have developed around this. If you can barely say it because you feel it is totally untrue then you need to get some help to find the mindset shifts needed to bring yourself more in line with who you truely are. Who you truely are is someone living a life with every right in the world to experience everything this life has to offer, you are a creator with enough potential and power to create exactly the things that you have the intention for. If you have started a business that is your dream then you have the right to experience it as the success you dream of. 07.01.2022 GAS Factor Take a moment to think about how you are using social media for your business. Are you on there with a mindset that keeps you in your comfort zone, as an escape to avoid the effort of having real life conversations with your audience? We love social media because it allows us to scale our message and reach a lot of people with a minimum of effort. This has worked well for a while now but the space has changed and its changing fast! Its now very crowded and gettin...g harder to stand out and build quality relationships that turn into bookings and dollars. Whos feeling this? We have to be prepared to go deeper and understand our audience better. We need to be there on the journey with them. It matters that your audience feels like you have the GAS factor (Yes you need to show people that you Give A Shit) if they feel like you are just dialing it in or hiding behind a screen then you will loose connection. Your audience have evolved as consumers of social media, this means more than ever people are on social looking for real connection. They are over the generic messages and posts that sound the same. This makes it much harder for you to market your business by leveraging the ease of social media. Its time to change things up and make the effort to sound different, you need to be vulnerable and show them who you really are, you need to treat your audience as individuals and talk to them as if you where at a party in the same room standing beside them talking to each one in a way that shows you want to have a real relationship. Heres few ideas for you to try out Stop the generic posts! Take a moment and pretend you are standing in front of your ideal client and then speak directly to them from your heart. These are the words to use in your post. Dont be lazy or rush your post, instead think about what you want the outcome to be and ask What do I need to say to make my client feel like they want to take the next step with me? Then consider the dollar amount of your average sale and pretend that what you say next will earn you that amount of money! Is it enough to spend an extra 10 or 15 minutes making your message really great? Create an entire marketing campaign including organic posts, post boosts and paid advertising with a specific call to action and destination to send your leads to so they can find out more about you and your story. Combine this with a genuine offer that inspires them to take the next step with you and you are on your way to creating a system that generates great leads and gives you the opportunity to really connect and convert interest into bookings. Artistic Talent What I learnt from being part of a family in business since 1957: Always help and mentor others - Together we can lift the industry. Be humble - Never be so bold that you wont ask for help. Get past your blocks and evolve - Be prepared to do the work necessary. Recognise what is needed and take action. - Its not about what you want to do, or what you like or what you dont like, what is needed? Do that! Get involved and become known in your community and industry. Put your clients needs and desires above the needs of your business. Understand the numbers that make your business work. Cashflow and Happiness are the corner stones to a Sustainable Business. Having tenacity, resilience, drive, and an unwavering resolution beats everything. If you can develop a mindset with these attributes then you are well on your way to being in business for the long term.

I simply start with the intention to transform a website or webpage from a showcase of products and services and turn it into a destination where people can find out why this business exists and why you should choose them. For example, if we are talking about your awards lets do so in a way that describes how you feel about getting these awards and what it means to you. Lets tell your audience why you go to the trouble and how difficult getting these awards can be and then let them know how that translates into a reason to book you... The WHY needs to be the primary message with services and products secondary.
