15.01.2022 What is hypnotherapy? There are a lot of misconceptions around the idea of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Some old stigmas are still attached, and some myths are still floating around. This post is to help you understand the true nature of hypnotherapy, and the benefits that it offers. Firstly, hypnotherapy isn’t mind control or magic. It involves putting the subject into a relaxed or trance state, which allows positive suggestions to be heard without the conscious mind putting ...up a fight. The suggestions will not work if deep down, you don’t want to believe them. Qualified Hypnotherapists will use a range of psychotherapy techniques including Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gestalt’s ‘empty chair’ method and many more. What makes hypnotherapy unique, is that it works with the subconscious mind. This makes changing your thought patterns and behaviours quicker and much more effective because it engrains the changes in your subconscious mind. What would usually take a psychologist who uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, for example, 22 sessions, would take 6 sessions or less sessions with hypnotherapy - AND have a significantly higher chance of long-lasting results. But what can it treat? Most people, when they hear the word hypnotherapy think of weight loss and ‘quit smoking’ programs, and it’s true, we do that. But we also do so much more! Hypnotherapy can be used to treat practically anything, from insomnia, addictions, bad habits and self-esteem issues, to anxiety, depression, pain management and so much more. The question is, what are you ready to change? How would you like to improve?

15.01.2022 The face behind Thrive: Hello everyone, and thank you for the support on my page. For those who don’t know me, my name is Alexandra Kamaropoulos and I am the owner and sole therapist here at Thrive Hypnotherapy. The past few years have been a difficult journey for me - dealing with health struggles, grief and a mental battle with my own body and will, but it did not happen in vein. My circumstances lead me to where I am now, and I realise this is where I was always meant to b...e; helping others. I am studying to get my Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy at the Academy of Hypnotic Science (Stirling Institute); the only government recognised Hypnotherapy course in Australia. My teachers are experienced Hypnotherapists with much wisdom to share, having been in the field for decades, and I feel privileged to train under their supervision. They have recognised that my class is ready to begin working with clients and I am eager to start making a difference in people’s lives. I expect to be open for business very soon, so keep an eye out for special deals. I wish you all a very safe and happy 2020!
