18.01.2022 Dear Thrive Physio community, COVID 19 update: Whilst we recommend you follow all new advice and information as it is released, here is a collation of what we have observed and learned about COVID 19 so far that we CAN ALL DO. We know it starts in the throat, so drinking water every 15 mins will clear the throat. Gargle with salt water a few times a day and prior to going to bed. Disinfect your hands often, especially after high traffic-touching areas such as groceries, mone...y, railings and petrol bowsers. Observe the space recommendations of 1.5m. Wear a mask attending small confined rooms. Keep up Vit C, Zinc, Vit A and other anti-virals such as sage and oregano. Many vitamins in shops have run out, but you can buy plenty of fresh food in Australia, this food will not go away, we are a self-sufficient nation in this regard, so you can get your Vit C through citrus fruits, you can get zinc through meat, shellfish and pumpkin seeds, you can get Vitamin A by eating orange and yellow vegetables (think sweet potato). You can buy fresh sage (the plant) from your local nursery and make herbal teas with it. We are OPEN for business. We have masks if you require one, these masks are basic and like most masks on the market, are not tested against COVID 19, but we have them non the less, should you need one during treatment. Thrive follows a usual disinfecting between patients’ protocol, which we will continue and tighten where needed. We wish our community well through this storm and please think of those currently very ill, under-going chemotherapy, radiation or those who are immunosuppressants (ie people with MS) and the elderly. These people are most at risk. They also need ongoing access to fresh fruit and vegetables themselves so please be aware of who these people are in your community and offer to collect groceries etc. Regards, The Thrive Team
