25.01.2022 The winning children's art work up in the White Space in the Thuringowa Library for the month of November. Get together Saturday 18 at 1.30. See you there.

24.01.2022 We took down the children's art competition last Tuesday and have got the 3 winners pictured, together with the 6 highly commended, framed or otherwise to be able to hang on the white wall for our November birthday exhibition. The committee voted on who would win the Gawalski Junior trophy. This is all made possible by the generosity Mick Gawalski, our first treasurer, who now lives in Canberra. This generous man provides funds for the 3 different age groups 8 - 11, 12 - ...14, 15 - 17 every year. If you want to show you gratitude, come to our birthday celebration on Saturday 21st November at 1.30 pm and see who is this years winner. Many thanks Mick. We did love you and your lovely wife, Jenny come last year for our 20th anniversary celebration. The other beautiful entries are available to pick up at my house. Phone Ailsa 0405 356 880. See more

22.01.2022 A lovely lady bought this painting of mine displayed in the Thuringowa Art Society's exhibition in the foyer of the Thuringowa Library yesterday. She said that the painting spoke to her and she just had to have it. Earlier in the week a man phoned me who liked my work in the exhibition and came to my house to find one to gve to his wife for her birthday. He found one that he thought his wife would like and said that he hoped that his wife would buy one that he liked in the e...xhibition for his birthday. So its has been a good week. The exhibition will come down on 26th October so you have 11 days to see it, which has been described as being very colourful and beautiful in the diversity of all the artists talents. The Children's Art Competition will go up in the children's section of the library on Tuesday. There are great prizes to be won so if you know any artistic children let them know. The pupil free day on Monday is a good opportunity for them to be creative. Cliffo from Hot FM radio will judge as he did last year. He is a great guy and very happy to do the judging for us. 21.01.2022 I can't believe the size of this creature and the number of lives it has taken.

17.01.2022 I have kept busy with having to stay home, with 5 commissioned art works. The long hours of sitting engrossed with creativity left me with badly swollen feet and legs. Doctor recommended elastic travel socks to take down the swelling. One of the commissioned works was my son's fancy car that he shows and takes people to formals etc. Picture shown. I have taken a break and done more activity. As restrictions are being lifted I have done a new work to put in our next exhibition. Our April exhibition at Tumbetin tea rooms has been deferred till they reopen. This may happen any time so I am ready. Hope all other members get creative also.

07.01.2022 It is with sadness that I inform you that the founder of the society, Janice Crocker, has passed away. We all owe Jan a lot for the hard work and dedication she had in founding and incorporating this society. Her husband Laurie, who was also a member and her supporter died in September 2013. They were very close and Jan deteriorated after his death. She is now at peace. Her funeral will be held at Fitsgeralds at 12 noon this coming Friday.

03.01.2022 Welcome to the new army families at Townsville Stadium.
